I know the new Afrika Corp sets have been discussed in another thread, but that one seemed to veer off in a different direction. Anyway, I thought I've give some of the new people here a heads up on the Limited Edition Rommel piece. I've noticed it's already sold out at several dealers, so if you have any inclination to order one, well you better "git 'er done"

Fred

There is no hesitation to have on that one. Maybe the best set produced by K&C. It will be sold out very quick.

Pierre.

I wonder if this one will come in a special box like the Winter Tiger? Has anyone heard anything?

EAzy

We are not sure yet on the Box front. Not sure if Pete (treefrog) has heard anything?

Tony

I think you're right, Pierre, I haven't been in this hobby very long, but I do know that Rommel piece looks awesome and is a "must" have. Also ordered the Desert Transport and Field Gun, the gun looks like it has the potential to be quite popular too. These pieces will be my first venture into the Afrika Corp series, I'm taking "Easy's" advice and giving the AK line a try.:)

Fred

On the AK front i kow the dealers are talking to each other (talking fro Europe only) and they are seeing if anybody has anyspare.

K&C UK is looking at a lot of pre ordered items for this new range. So it is going to go very well. Please all bear in mind also that this usually creates interest in the older (on stock) Ak items and increases your 2nd price on the old AK stuff.

So good news if you have preordered one!!!!!!!!!! but the other side, bummer

Tony:)

I will pre-order 2 field guns. I will display one in action and the other tracked by the desert transport. I did that with the WS57 and the WS52, very cool.

Hi Guys,

Here are some photos of the special "GREIF" BOX and the inside leaflet.

From what dealers tell us many of them have already sold out (or almost sold out) their allocations of "GREIF's".

Best wishes and ... good luck and good hunting if you're still to reserve yours with your favourite K&C dealers.

Andy

That's what i call a good answer! I'm even more excited about this release now.

That packaging looks fantastic, but what do think Rommel meant when he said his "booty is huge". He looks pretty fit to me:D

Fred

If you want to know what he meant I wouldn't suggest you google "booty is huge" because who knows what will come up if your at work. :D

:) Hello Guy's! No, w we have seen ther NEW Afrika Korps Sets, we hope that Andy, will do a DAK ( Opel Maultier Cargo Truck)-on Halftracks-SDKFZ-4--with Rider's -in-Rear, and and Removable Canvas Canopy-Possible Towing a NEBELWERFER, or 150CM-( HEAVY) Field Artillery Howitzer Gun & Crew? Or an 88th NEW Gun & Crew? Don't forget 2-Man Motorcycle Team with Sdecar?

This will make the third Rommel they've produced (not to mention all the sordid characters of the 1000 year Reich).

C'mon, Andrew, how about equal time for the Allies? How about a General Bradley, General Crerar or General Dempsey? Enough of the rogues gallery. How about some good guys?

I would guess that the most likely candidates are Patton and maybe MacArthur or DeGaulle based on potential sales. That is assuming they haven't already been done. Even the axis side could benefit by extending to some non-Germans. Almost anything well done might sell at this point, so hopefully that will factor into the decision making process and allow for some figures that might otherwise not be considered.

Yeah, I could go for "old blood and guts" myself, on his way to Berlin to kick that paperhangin' SOB right in the... Go get'em George, ivory handled revolvers and all!

K&C had to pay a licensing fee to the Estate of George Patton for the Patton figure, so it might be the same for other famous Allied personalities.:)

Yes, that is the problem, as Andy has noted. I'm wondering if the Rommel family has ever said anything or if Andy has secured the rights. I would have the same question about Wittman's family, assuming there are descendants.
