Hi, i`m relatively new to soldier collecting-so perhaps someone out there can answer a query i have regarding a rose miniatures 48th regiment of 1809 figure i have just acquired.on it`s base-after removing the wooden plinth- i found stamped into the metal "rose miniatures " then 5/16 written as a fraction. Does this mean the 5th figure in a set of 16? . Also does anyone know if there is any reference books etc on rose - so i can maybe find out when it was made etc, i gather they have been around many years .if someone can help, i`ll be very grateful.

Billybuoy,

Have a look through the catalogues on the John Eden Studios website for your figure-

http://johnedenstudios.com/index.htm

I have similar numerical notations on two Rose Miniature figures I have in my collection and don't know what they represent. Possibly John Eden knows.

Billybuoy,

the fraction you see on the base of Rose Miniatures is the distance between the holes on the base expressed in inches.

There is a number of bases made for these figures with holes at various distances apart.

I've had a look at some of my figures and I see 1/4, 5/16, 7/16 and ATT (being 1 hole and the figures are 'At Attention')

There also could be a 3/4 but I don't think I have one.

I hope that helps?

John

You can find old catalogues of Rose Miniaures ( and more than 100 others ) all downlodable in PDF (some in XLS files, reconstitution from scraps ) at my adress

If anybody has copy of old catalogs ( all makers out of bzns ) in digital form JPG, PDF, Words ......, I would be glad to put them in line for everybody to enjoy
Thanks
