Royal Air Force “Summer of 1940” On a Battle of Britain Airfield (1 Viewer)

Another little gem, that cricket club gets around. The life of pilot, hot machines to drive and fly. This dio will be well received at the show. Thanks for sharing.:salute::, Robin.

A very well laid out Diorama allowing the display of several aircraft, the Building and accompanying figures and vehicles ! :salute:: :salute:: :salute::

Nice video but shame the Jeep was not made till 1941 long after the the Battle of Britain :wink2:

Brilliant Andy and I like the "prototype" jeep being road tested (Hence the female driver {eek3}^&grin) before mass production took place :salute::

Regardless of anything, it is a great diorama.

I am just building one for my personal collection and it is taking time. It now looks like I need to add the car into it, grrr :)

Things like this help collectors so well done Andy and team. :salute::

Nothing wrong with the model of the jeep per say so IMO not a big deal it doesn't fit the title of the scene. Easily fixed by removing the jeep from the scene or equally easy to change the title to 1943. It's clearly a marketing scenario, not an egregious historical error.

Gentle Friends,

Unfortunately, I have found it necessary to remove from this thread a number of rude posts. It is a shame to encounter rudeness at a time when our hosts are dealing with tragic circumstances. Uksubs, Wayne556517, and Desertkiwi have been excused from further participation of this thread. Please continue to enjoy the diorama presented by Andy and please continue to engage in constructive discussion.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

I'm certain that there's more interest in this diorama than has been expressed, so I thought that I'd take a few screen captures and try to "reinvigorate" the thread:

I really like the base. My gosh, it must be five feet wide. It'd make for a great display, covered perhaps, in front of a larger window. I also like how the lane was incorporated into the dio, as this highlights the rural nature of many of the RAF landing fields. The Cricket Club has been remodeled, and appears a tad more "antiquish" than my retail version. As to the composition of the various figure/vehicle/aircraft sets, one could meddle with them all day. KC makes quite a few, and the possibilities are TRULY endless.
