I ran across this on the web with the following label. Andy do you know about the Royal Marines landing in North Africa in WWII? It may have been training for the later D-Day landings? They are kitted out like the 8th Army.
"THE COAST GUARD LANDS THE BRITISH MARINES - Down the ramps, through the surf and up the beach dash Royal British Marines from US Coast Guard-manned landing craft during final amphibious maneuvers on the Coast of North Africa. The Britains came in aboard a Coast Guard-manned assault transport. Coast Guard landing craft, like these, struck the Coast of France in the initial liberation waves on D-Day."
