This is the first picture of our latest figure (assuming I can post it). It shows a Macgregor Gentleman Officer of Mackays’s Regiment during the Thirty Years War. When Mackay’s Regiment was formed amongst the first recruits were some Macgregors, and I was able to find an authentic Macgregor tartan dating from the 17th century. It’s a simplified tartan, not the same as the modern day clan tartan but authentic none the less. So this is our conjectural Gentleman Officer from the Green Brigade.

It’s a Special Finish Limited Edition of just 50. The basic Thirty Years War officer will always be available, but this conversion, with the basket hilt claymore and the Auld Blue Banner, and the authentic Macgregor tartan will never be sold again once the 50 are gone.

Mackay’s regiment and the other Scots regiments of the Green Brigade became the Regiment de Hebron – the forerunner of the Royal Scots, the Senior Regiment of the British Army, so this figure is the first of the Redcoats. The achievements of the Scots Regiments, during the Thirty Years War, their courage and gallantry, have never been equalled even by the magnificent 350 year record of their descendants the Royal Scots.

Russian figures are different to figures made and painted in China, and if you haven’t seen Russian figures you should at see some.

When I said “our figure” I didn’t sculpt or paint the figure however I did the original research and came up with the concept. I did this once before when we sold a Special Edition Knight to Toy Soldier & Model Figure magazine. Readers heard about it on the grapevine and before the magazine was on sale all the figures were sold.

Bob,
That is without a shadow of a doubt, a figurine to "sell your Granny for". :)
I'm almost heartbroken that there's no chance of me laying my hands on one. Good luck to those who end up with this in their collections, and please understand that I'm literally green with envy. :(

Shippings not the problem, its the delivery address. I don't have one.

Sorry Bob, I ought to clarify. Of course I have an address in China, I even have an English translation of the Chinese characters for that address. But you can't post to it, and I can't face going through all the rigmarole of trying to open a private PO box number here in China. Then there's Chinese customs to consider. We shipped a container with all our household effects including our toy soldier, aircraft and AFV collection from Dubai to Dalian. Its taken us two weeks of endlessly visiting offices (every day except weekends) obtaining official clearance to take delivery of our own possessions, and we'll still be charged an arm & a leg for import duty. Oh, and we still don't have our stuff. Maybe tomorrow.......!!!
And this is despite the fact that Dalian is my wife's hometown (?).
What I really need is a delivery point in Hong Kong where I can collect anything I order and then bring it into China in my luggage. I'm toying with the idea of using a Hong Kong hotel as a delivery point, but it'll be the end of October before I can speak to the people I need to talk to.
All this is what I meant in my original post when I said there's no chance of me getting my hands on that beautiful figurine.

After we made and have started selling this figure of Mackay's I found this quote - quite by accident. Its so good I wanted to include it with the figure -

“If the spirits of Buchan amd Hepburn, of Mackay and Dunbarton are permitted to take cognisance of the affairs of this planet, they have good cause for pride in the regiment which they founded, formed and moulded. It has won success and encountered disasters; it has gained victories and suffered reverses but in all its three hundred years of existence it has never earned reproach on the stricken field.”
Major MM Haldane
Royal Scots 1918
