I have posted these photos with some other in the Expanded Empire Thread - but, the photo of my new Russians turn out great so I thought it would be good to post them here as well.

I am sure Andy would appreciate the additional advertising for the RUSSIAN NAPOLEONIC LINE ;)

Ken

Thanks - The Curio turned out to be better than I thought when ordering it.

It certainly has added more space for future purchases :D

Ron

Thanks guys - I am really enjoying this new curio - for sure.

The French Old Guards are winning the battle because they all got PLUMES. The Russians are just way too inferior without PLUMES.

Puts paid to the theory that the Russian pluimes were left off for shipping purposes then I presume.
Ron great pictures and thanks for posting them

You know - when I made that suggestion back when the Russians first came out - I forgot about the OLD GUARD Figures

I really dont know why the plumes were dropped - I would like to at least know the reason too??

But, even without the plumes - these RUSSIAN figures are really outstanding - don't you think? Alot of action and they look great in the firing line. :D

GREAT FIGURES FOR NAPOLEONIC COLLECTORS !

Ron

They are great figures Ron.
I was going through my library yesterday and found a few books on the Russian campaign
They were sketches and etchings amde by several officers who were part of teh doomed Grande Armee. Borodino sounds like an awful battle.

Yea - it was a slug match - like two Heavy Weight Boxers pounding each other until one gives out.

There was not much Napoleon Magic at this battle - I think was determined to crush the Russians and destroy as much of the Army as he could. Wasn't interested in a typical "peace treaty" that time. The Czar really ticked him off and he was going to finish him.

Here are the two references. The images are really good. They are all firsthand. I would recommend these books to all students of the campaign

With Napoleon in Russia: The Illustrated Memoirs of Faber Du Faur, 1812

Napoleon's Army in Russia: The Illustrated Memoirs of Albrecht Adam, 1812

Very nice display Cap. I can see why stock levels have been low lately. :)

I plan on adding more Guard to my collection soon.

Again - OD - OUTSTANDING !

I believe you have a terrific collection there. Interesting that you collect one of everything - do you buy multiples of any of those figures or just work to get one of each ??

Ron

Two impressive displays and collections; well done to both of you. How long did it take each of you to collect and OD, what do you have on the other side?
