bought a old arhnem piece from a forum member 765.00 recieved item broke glued back together in four places pieces missing ect.you would think he would do the right thing just wanted a swap out but was told too bad thanks for buying my item this guy is bad for collecting and should not be able to sell his goods on the forum::::this is not right.pm me if you want to be made aware.

That is really unfortunate. I am new to these boards, but I recognize a lot of folks here that I have been buying from for years, and all first rate. When you purchase from a collector, you expect the figures have been meticulously taken care of and that they will be shipped as you would ship your own: with great care. Doesn't sound as if you are trading with a collector, just a guy with some figures.

I think most people who have been on the forum a little while will know exactly who the seller is, and it's not the first time this has happened.

It's a repeat performance from a long time collector and member of this Forum who should know better .

All it took was Arnhem piece............broken and glued back together........and presto, the mystery as to who it was has ended.

What a shame, nothing more than a 765.00 paper weight at this point.

I'm curious. I think I know who it is. This has been an ongoing problem. Why has no warning been given or why has the individual not been banned? -- lancer

I think it comes down to legal reasons that may affect our forum hosts, if names etc are mentioned. Not that I think they need to be, as George said, the info is already there.

I agree, no names then. But why not ban? Surely dealing in bad faith to a forum member is a violation of the R&R. It is not just a minor problem of name calling or baiting, it's hard cash. -- lancer

Maybe if there have been numerous complaints for the same thing from several different buyers? Otherwise it is just a word against word dispute.

I don't know for sure, but would guess that in order to take that action, Shannon would potentially assume some legal responsibility for private transactions or at the very least, be said to be acting in some form of adjudication. Different legal systems world wide, and I imagine it's one giant headache that Shannon would not want to be taking on.

I agree though, it stinks (the transaction, not the forum R&Rs)

That truly sucks!!!! to spend that kind of coin and get screwed over is a hard pill to swallow, Didn't think we had con-artists on our forum, but you live and learn, sorry to here about your story Toyking, just the other day I made a trade to one of our forum members for some WWII items, the item I shipped to him got there with a few small dings, so the deal was simply cancelled and being sent back, the honest thing to do, just thinking about losing out on 765.00 dollars pisses me off and it's not even my money:mad::mad: sorry again....Sammy

Yeah guys, I get and understand the possible legal problems. It is just frustrating to know there is a problem that can't be dealt with. I must say that I have made several forum deals since I have joined and everyone I have dealt with or conversed with has been a class act, real gentlemen. One rotten apple can sure be aggravating, though. -- lancer

Sorry for your experience Toyking,it would be good to hear what the seller has to say on the matter? Iam often assured "Toy Soldier " collecting is a close knit community, with secrets and all,but lifes experience tells me there is no such thing, even in so called close knit communities there is always sharks circling, waiting for an unsuspecting victim. Please dont be fooled into thinking that collectors dont dump on fellow collectors cause they do,what makes it feel worse is that people know who you are talking about but as the saying goes "Evil triumphs when good men do nothing".ken

Before we rush to judgment it is important to know if the item was purchased on ebay from a seller who happens to be a forum member. If that is the case, then that is a matter for Ebay and not this Forum. The purchase price makes me think it may be an Ebay transaction.

It is terrible that this has happened yet again! I only learned of this situation a little while ago but it has been going on far to long, and affected quite a few members.

I would encourage members to contact long standing members with known collections before you spend serious money with folks you do not know.

Many of us are only to happy to help, and provide any information we might have on some of the "questionable" people trading lately.

This is most unfortunate, becareful out there the other shoe is about to drop!

It should not matter where it was bought from ,if a forum member knowingly sold damaged toy soldiers on ebay or on the forum,he should be named and shamed to protect the integrity of the forum and fellow collectors from such shameful behaviour, ken

If you paid using PayPal, file a claim. If you paid using a credit card, call your card issuer and they will take back the funds. Don't give up on this, please.

Donnie

With the endless suggestions this "person" makes, I would suggest to "him" to fix the problem.

same guy again doing this nonsense.
at the very least, he should be blacklisted from this forum.

Yes as a point of information. If you pay for your ebay items with Paypal they guarantee your satisfaction. If your item arrives damaged you can file a claim and receive your money back.

If Toyking used Paypal it will be the seller that will be quite unhappy in the end.

Ebay can be quite a pain, Paypal on the other hand has provided me excellent service both as a buyer and seller for 12 years and over 2000 transactions now.
