Sad News - Frontline Figures has Ceased Operations (1 Viewer)

Well, it leads to a followup question: Not releasing new sets, but does that mean, still producing existing sets and re-stocking them with retailers?

Prost!
Brad

Brad - I know he still has sets available. Assume he is still supplying dealers who stock his product?
We move through all sorts of random sets from collections on Consignment.

Other Brad - please stop shooting the messenger - she is tired!!! :p

Julie,

If you post news, especially important news, people will react accordingly.

Brad

Ps, I'm sure they sell bullet proof vests in Minnesota ^&grin

Or still having inventory they'd like to move.

And back to the heart of the thread, I emailed Gerard yesterday -- his response:

Hi,
It has come to my attention that it is being reporting publicly that Frontline Figures has stopped trading.
I am very much still in toy soldier business, all be it not releasing new sets.
Please tell all people who may be interested in this news.
Regards

Gerard
Very much alive Frontline Figures.

Hope that clears up any confusion?

Julie

Hmmm. Well, no actually it doesn't . The website has not been updated in years, neither of the contact email addresses on the website are active, AND, one the last remaining Frontline dealers, Hobby Bunker, told me that they couldn't give me a contact email address since they had ceased operations. Gerard, if you see this, why didn't you leave us a new email contact address in the message to Julie? How can you be in business if we have no way to contact you? I am still interested in buying whatever remaining sets you may have, if I don't already have them. You can contact me at matara42@roadrunner.com.

Maybe they're in the "bardo," which is a Tibetan term for being in an existential state between your old life and rebirth, although in this case they are in a state between their former existence and the afterlife.

Or, maybe just in "La La land"?

My needs are simple. I would like Gerard's 7 Years War "Austrian" (actually "Hungarian") sets. I do mean ALL if these sets.

No dealer has them, they never come up on eBay (the Prussians do!) If Gerard has stock, I would be happy to relieve him of some, but nobody will tell me how I can contact him!

If his whereabouts is so secret, I am prepared to go through a third party (as long as that doesn't cost me money)

Firstly, I need to establish whether or not Gerard has these items, then, and if, how can I purchase them.

It seems that Julie or Pete may qualify as "third parties". I'm easy to find.

Happy Collecting!

I last met Gerard in person in Hong Kong 2 years ago. I called and ask for the Timber building diorama. He also sold me a few Crimean War Figures, and custom painted them in Matte so to match with my King & Country UK exclusives. So there are still products available.

My baby girl was just born and I am running out of display space. So I am selling the set of 3 Timber buildings diorama. PM me if interested.

To the best of my knowledge, Frontline only made the Prussians and Swedes in their Seven Years War Range. At the 2014 West Coaster, Gerard had the Russian Grenadier 1st Regiment prototypes, but no Hungarian Haller Regiment finished product or prototypes. I was hoping to buy both. I would be surprised if they ever made them since they never appeared at the subsequent 2015 or 2016 West Coaster. NB: At the West Coaster, Frontline and my tables are right next to each other and have been so for years.

Hi Mike,

Your response sent me into the archives.

There is a Treefrog thread entitled:" New 7 Year Wat figures out"

On 12-03-2012, awjj65 (Jeff) from the UK posted a series of photos from the London Show showing most of the Prussians and the Swedish, Russian, and Hungarian Infantry. Missing from the Prussian line up were the 3 mounted figures (were these ever released?)

It appears to me that the items missing from the Austrians are the Gun and Crew, and the Jaeger. These items do hot have photos on the web page, either (which is much more accessible these days?)

I appreciate that we may be looking at "Paint Masters" here.

On 04-15-2015, Lancer made the last post on that thread. He doesn't say so, but he strongly implies that the the Austrians never went commercial.

As much as I respect you, Mike, and Lancer, it is time we heard the "real" story from Jerard, or someone who speaks with his authority. If there is stock, it appears that he would have guaranteed sales of 2 boxes of each set, at least!

Happy Collecting,

Oberstinhaber

Maybe you could ask Julie for his email or forward an email to her to send to Gerard.

Too bad. I have several of their gloss 11th Hussars and a few odds and ends. I always have liked their gloss figures. -- Al
Just added a flag bearer set and command set from their ACW matte line of the 5th NY. These are superb figures and I will be hunting more down on the secondary market. Sorry I am so late to the Frontline game as I really like these figures. -- Al

Hi Al,

I just saw your post today. I am selling part of my Frontline collection (mainly duplicate sets) at 50% off of the original list prices, if you are interested. In addition to the ACW, I have Napoleonics, including a Battle of Austerlitz display with more than 90 French, Austrian, and Russian grenadiers; World War I storm troppers; and World War II US and German in action sets plus artillery sets. All sets have their original boxes except for some WWII sets that I have the boxes somewhere, but haven't found them yet.

Unfortunately, I sold many of my ACW sets at Bob Walker's open house last month, but I still have some left. You, or any one else for that matter, can contact me direct at matara42@roadrunner.com for more information. Thanks.

Thanks, Mike. I appreciate the offer and will contact you when in position to. -- Al
