Tomorrow on TCM, will feature "Sahara" with Humphrey Bogart, another one of my favorite war movies. Its shows at 9:15 am in Hawaii, so I'm afraid Al will have to wake up at 4:15 am to see it. I hope you're an early riser Al. After Sahara, John Wayne's Horse Soldiers will play.

Thanks for the head's up. I checked the line-up. The listing here on the east coast shows The Story of GI Joe @ 12:15pm, Sahara @ 2:15pm, and The Horse Soldiers @ 4 pm. Don't know how to account for the listing differences, but thanks for the tip. Will be watching all of them.:salute:: -- Al

I didn't care for, The Story of GI Joe, but the Horse Soldiers is again, one of my favorites. Boy, I do have a lot of favorites. Speaking of John Wayne, I haven't seen the War Wagon in a very long time. It did come on TV about 2-months ago though. Interestingly, The Vikings with Kirk Douglas & Tony Curtis played last month or two, which was great.

Normally I don't watch TV during the day, but I saw Sahara this morning. It was as good as ever. What was interesting about this old movie was that the US tank picked many nationalities and its seems the message of the movie was not to be racist and for everyone to work together. There was a scene where the black soldier was collecting water drop by drop in a dried up well and he didn't drink any water, only licking the drops that was left on his hands and sent the water up to his fellow soldiers. I thought that was quite a progressive movie for its time. Old movies are like that, sending moral lessons.
