Hi Sailor!

Just teasing Wind or motor? I used to do sail boating when I was a kid. I served on a buck and a quarter as a galley chief and a j.o. on the SES Morriss. Sea Scouts/Explorers

My Big hobby prior to marriage and kids was winsurfing......... and i have worked at a couple of the cowes week on the southcoast in my youth. Been around sailing a hell of a lot. Must be from being a Portsmouth boy!

Cowes week on the Isle of Wight is awesome all the big and small boats and loads of racing..................and loads of hospitality tents!!

I worked the Guiness tent one year as a celler lad brining up from th edock kegs of the stuff in the evening a keg would only last 30mins (average i think in a keg is 55pints!!) we were allowed to drink as we worked...........i then jet skiid back to the main land (2miles+) and lost my bearings ended up 15miles up the coast from where i needed to be!!

Hello General-Major,

My interest is sailing. I took some courses a few years back with the Canadian Yachting Association to have at least some sense of what I was doing and sail on a friend's 27 footer. Together we also rented and sailed on the Atlantic for a week (coastal sailing, i.e. with the coastline always more-or-less in view).

It's lots of fun. So I was wondering whether or not there were other sailers out there.

I'm a sailor! I mean, I joined the Brazilian Navy when I was 18... and I have sailed a few sailboats as well. I guess that means I'm a sailor, right?

Ive been around the world a couple of times solo. What do you want to know? I used to work on the river thames rescueing stranded rental boat owners though. Not the thames in ontario, the real one in london

I was in the Navy.

After that and many years ago I sold everything – condo, 3 cars … to buy a 37` Endeavor with a life long friend. At the last minute he decided to remarry and that was the end of that.

My purpose ... I just wanted to hear about anyone interested in sailing. It's good to read your stories: being in the navy, rescues on the Thames, friends vs. women. I hope to see some more.

Not quite sailing, but I love to fish off my pontoon boat at my weekend cottage.
