Well, it's feast or famine it seems as after going nearly 3 years between releases for our Samurai range, we have the next figures just a month or two after the previously released figures. This month we add two incredibly detailed new mounted Samurai to the ranks of the Takeda Clan including one of the famous "Red Devils" of Li. These are wonderful new figures making a great addition to a Nagashino diorama or just as stand alone works. We do hope you like them!

SAM041 Mounted Samurai "Red Devil" of Li Naomasa $199.95
SAM042 Mounted Samurai Charging with Katana - Takeda Clan $199.95
Shipping Early August

Excellent figures! Will be adding these as soon as they're released!!!

I really do cherish the 6 previously released mounted Samurais and am very happy to be able now to add two more to the charge.
Only thing I was hoping to see with any new releases of mounted Samurais was differently posed horses.
The first 6 share 3 horse poses and now the new 2 Samurais are on 2 of those 3 horse poses again.
However, I am still glad to see these released, and anxious to add them to my collection.
Each individual mounted Samurai is such a great figure by itself, that the repeating horse poses do not take away from them.
Thanks, First Legion, for these new releases, and if you don't mind, bring up a few more every now and then :wink2: ^&grin

I wouldn't mind some non-action cavalry poses. A couple of mounted figures depicting Takeda Shingen, Tokugawa Ieyasu and Toyotomi Hideyoshi would be great additions to the samurai line.

Takeda Shingen

Toyotomi Hideyoshi

Tokugawa Ieyasu

These are great samurai figures on horseback. My comments historically speaking, its "Ii Naomasa" not "Li" Naomasa.
The back part of the surcoat have a Takeda emblem..Ii Naomasa did not serve under Takeda Shingen. He served Ieyasu Tokugawa.

I really don't know much about Samurai history, but I think that these figures are outstanding. I am just trying to learn about this time period. Am I interpreting your message correctly that the "Red Devil" figure has an incorrect clan emblem? The emblem on the back of the coat is for the Takeda clan and it should be the Tokugawa clan? Thanks ahead of time.

That is right. The emblem on the surcoat can be change to an emblem that represents the Ii clan.

You are very much correct. I had looked at an older version of our internal catalog file and used old information. The correct listing for SAM041 is:

SAM041 Mounted Samurai Charging with Yari - Takeda Clan

Apologies for the confusion!

Best,

Matt

So Matt, when will we see Ii Naomasa and his "Red Devils"?!?!?

And while we're at it, the correct description of SAM042 should read.....

SAM042 Sanada Nobutsuna Charging with Katana

As many of you who are students of the period will know, Sanada Nobutsana was one of the 24 Generals of Takeda Shingen and was killed at the Battle of Nagashino in 1575.

Best,

Matt
