Is anyone else here on the forum afflicted with the same compulsion as I am?
I collect 54mm metals, Plastics that I paint, figs I make myself and paint.Plus I collect and paint 25/28mm plastics and metal war game figures.
I've found myself duplicating the same periods and conflicts in both scales.
Napoleonic, { 1812 to WATERLOO}
Dark ages
Punic Wars

So far I've managed to avoid collecting / duplicating any other armies in 2 scales.

Anyone else?{sm2}

I go thru the same torture.
Napoleonics in 54mm for many years but i hate painting 54mm horses a real chore.
Plus 54mm is so incomplete for Naps why wait and prey for sets that may not happen when everthing is already out there in miniature.
But 28mm a lot more fun to paint and easy to knock out plenty of troops.
Have both 54mm & 28mm Dark ages.
Built a good 54mm ACW collection plastics prepainted metals and kit figs but 28mm ACW is teasing me right now.
I also like the idea of buying miniatures made in Great Britain {rather then China}
but thats just me!

Ragnar, I agree about the little guys being made in the UK, US and NOT CHINA.
You can also find any troop type and LOTS of variants for your Napoleonic Battalions and Regiments. The plastics are fun and easy to put together even minor conversions.The Perry French Cuirassier plastics are really a blast. I bought the metals too, which are different models entirely, and mixed some of the metal / plastic riders and mounts around for even more variation.
I'm teased by 28mm WW2. Warlord Marines,British, Red Devils , tanks, all task me!

Fub,
I looked into 28mm WW2 found a great range of figures but could not find any 1/56 scale tanks?.
Only Corgi which are 1/50 i think and very exspensive so i was leaning more towards 20mm which has those nice little FOV tanks.
The Pery Plastics are nice but im not a big fan of the Victrix {just to fiddly}.
Your 28mm Naps bust be getting HUGE by now i take it!

For me, I came from the wargame side of the fence, started in 20mm WW2, then did 28mm WW2, now have 60mm WW2. I find that I enjoy the 60mm for skirmish level games and the 20mm still for larger battles where I want to see armor on the table. I think the 28mm will have to go.

I use to justify the different scales by doing different theaters of war. 20mm was Normandy and 28mm was Italian campaign. but then I started with the 60mm about 3 years ago and they are Normandy too.

I enjoy painting figures, even though I am an average painter. So the 20 and 28mm figures paint up nice for my skills. I tried a 54mm figure once and I just can't do it justice.

But yes, I have the problem. :)

I am guilty of pursuing the same subject in multiple scales. I am the forum's "GI Freak". I buikd the US Army/Marines from WW2 on in multiple scales. In models I build 1/72nd, 1/48th, 1/35th, and 1/32nd. In "toy" soldiers I build 1/32nd, "Conte 54mm", and 1/30th. I have also had minor diversions into 1/18th and 1/6th. So my basement is full of models and "collectibles" of the US Army in WW2.

I can't say that I haven't thought about it. There is just too much to collect in the current 54mm scale for me to deviate.
