Samson and Delilah Rubens (2 Viewers)

Finally, I have completed this piece. There was a holdup while I was looking for inspiration to go the final lap.

After completing the two last soldiers (I actually added smoke to his candle!), I glued the figures in place and sealed the back of the scene.

There were two light sources, each coming off a 2inch strip of white and warm white LED lights. As I didn't have a three way light connector, the soldiers are not lit.

Here's the final piece, best viewed in daylight or with the room lights on, and with internal lighting due to its small size.

Hope you all liked it.

Hi John and Louis,

Thanks for yr kind and generous comments.

i am awaiting another led cable to add some light to the soldiers. Also I will try to reframe the piece to further resemble the proportions of the painting.

Hi All,

I made up another mat frame, painted simulated gold to resemble the outer frame. This resizes the scene to resemble the painting and also creates a more attractive frame overall.

I've also added another LED strip to light up the soldiers in the background. A hole was made in the shadow box and the LED strip was inserted.

The final pics show the the scene lit up during the day.

Hi all

i decided to put this piece in a larger shadowbox, which will mask all the led wires.
The piece was displayed at a small modelling event.
