I wish Nick the best and a quick recovery after a stroke. He is on my prayer list.

Subject: Nick Update

Hi all. Okay, so we are on the way now. They moved him yesterday to the rehab facility. Of course, it’s the weekend so they won’t really get started on the hard work until Monday. I think that today the therapists will basically just do some assessments, and the doctor says that Sundays are pretty quiet. I guess that means that the therapists are off on Sundays. I see improvement everyday – he did just a little bit of walking (with help) yesterday and his right arm coordination seems better too. His confusion about some things goes up and down and he still seems to be searching for words sometimes. But then, we can sit and talk for a couple of hours without missing a beat. I think there is going to be some work ahead of us, but we can do it! His spirits seem very good and he is not depressed or impatient at all. He jokes with all the nurses, etc. I don’t know – the Physician’s Assistant was awfully pretty - Do I have to leave him there? J I don’t know how long he will be there yet, not until they start working with him. At one point I was told it could be 4 or 5 weeks and another time I was told 1 or 2 weeks. Who knows. He is at Sharp Acute Rehabilitation at 29999 Health Center Drive, San Diego 92123. He is in Room #152 and the phone number for that room is 858-939-4739. I am not sure he knows the phone is there at this point, but I will make sure that when I see him today, he does.

Okay, while typing this, I just got a call from the nurse at the Rehab. He tried to get out of bed to go to the bathroom and he fell. He promised he would do that! Anyway, she said that he was fine – he didn’t get hurt. He is being so good about following orders – I think he may have just forgotten. She said he just woke up and had to go to the bathroom, so he sat up and stood up. They now have a monitor on his bed that will go off if he tries to stand up.

Okay, I am off to get a little work done before I heads down there. I will give ya’ll an update after he has some therapy and see what’s up. Love to all and thank you again for your prayers and support!

Love, DeAnna

Mine, too, John... Also, I know that the Texas Show will go on as planned..And it sounds as if Nick is planning on being there! He has a lot of rehab work to do - but iIhave no doubt that he'll make it!

DeAnna . . . I'm so sorry to hear of Nick's misfortune. He's a good man and I'm sure he'll be doing better in no time at all. I'll try and call this afternoon. Best to the both of you . . .

I never met Nick, but heard nothing but good things about him, I really like his Soldiers, get well big guy, in my prayers as well.:)

My best wishes for a complete recovery to Nick. I have had the privilege of meeting Nick and Deanna at the Chicago show. They are really nice people (as well as producing a fine line of toy soldiers). I hope all goes well for Nick and the whole family.

I wish to add my prayers and well wishes to Nick and DeAnna for a safe and speedy recovery! Agreed they are both wonderful individuals!!

Prayers and best wishes are OK but supporting TSSD and Nick by being customers will pay his bills.
