Can anyone recommend a sat nav which you can input longitude and latitude ref numbers in to? Any recommendations for this would be most welcome as I'd like to use this in conjunction with some battlefield visiting later this year whilst using Holts Battlefield guide books that use these numbers.

Thanks in advance

Rob

Hi Rob,

Interesting question. I have an old Garmin from around 1999 to 2000 that still works and will allow you to enter lat long. So my guess is there is a new one on the market that will be a lot more user friendly. I use a company in the states called REI and Cabela's for this type of equipment. There must be something similar store wise in the UK that will already have the maps for Europe programed. Another one to look at is Magellan they have a lot of models that are for hiking but I cant recommend one from personal use.

Hope this helps

Wayne, all power to you mate, but hand me a map when I'm out in the middle of the Somme /Normandy somewhere and ask me to find a particular spot and you might as well hand me the back of a cereal packet:wink2:

Wayne, I believe the ones I used in the Military were Garvin made. They seemed to work very well !
