Thanks Gents. The backdrop I found on E-Bay listed under "Model train backdrops" !!! :wink2: It is made from a heavy duty card stock. The colors are sharp with
good detail. Cheers

i like the elefant despite what some ppl say abt it

i also like the normandy kubelwagon; a useful dio add-on

Nice set up PA and nice assortment of K&C sets. I do like the backdrop as well.

Very good Wayne mate where did you get that back drop from ??

See post previous, just went to Ebay for same site and purchased a backdrop 5ftx2ft inc postage $78. Mountain backdrop rather than the trees, but those look good also. Cheers, Robin.

I participate in the WW2incolor.com forums where people try to be very rigorous in their study of old photographs and re-color them to be historically accurate reproductions.

A frequent discussion occurs on the Ferdinand/Elephant's legacy. There seems to be a lot of "myth" around its ineffectiveness. In fact, I they seem to have had extremely high kill ratios on both the Eastern Front and in Italy. Especially when used in either ambush tactics or properly supported by infantry.

Looking at actual documents from the Wehrmacht, relatively few were lost to combat. This includes the myth that they were extremely vulnerable to enemy infantry. When you actually look at the documented combat losses only a few were lost to infantry. More were lost to artillery than anything else from a combat perspective, if my memory serves me correctly.

Of course, most were destroyed by their crews due to breakdowns and or lack of fuel.

Nice scene Wayne and an excellent backdrop, very effective^&cool

I used the "save the elephant" motto just for a story line for the dio

Nice little set up Elephant dio PanzerAce1944,

Would you happen to know the total height of the Elephant vehicle including the included crew? I have my eye on one and need to see if I have enough shelf clearance for the beast to fit.

Thanks in advance,

Derek
