I came a little late to this series, but I am certainly very happy with the figures, I decided to go down the Saxon Viking conflict [have visited many battlefields of the period and i am a fan of the Bernard Cornwell book series].

I am hoping the range expands, possibly with some dead/wounded Vikings and Saxons. I was thinking of where the range could go, is it a range that is only open to figures, standing and mounted. Can anyone see anything else apart from figures that could be added to the range?

Have just ordered more Saxons and a couple of Vikings from Grey Goose [www.grey-goose.co.uk] in the UK.

Thanks for sharing, it's a great looking setup, but then again IMHO It's the best series, John has ever made :) Nice touch with the trees and hedgerow!

What a great start !

Likewise, love the 'Uhtred' (son of Uhtred-lol) book series...and pleasantly surprised that my wife enjoys the series on Netflix.

In talking with John, he has hinted at the possibility of a Viking long boat in the future to compliment this series. There already has been a Saxon casualty figure released in two different paint versions. John has also indicated that more casualties will be produced. Just an outstanding range to collect and certainly one of my favorites.

Cheers, i have the Saxon wounded figure on the way with set SX171819A, looks good, but think a few more would be great as well.
The Viking longboat sounds interesting, but what about possibly a Saxon/Viking home, see below for picture [ i know the power lines spoil the picture], or palisade. I really liked the old [relatively] Conte Viking Raiding series. would a series from JJ like that be a 'seller'. Something along the lines of a Raiding party.

Yeh, how good would a JJD Saxon village range be... something like what Conte made

Love it. Almost the same # of Saxons and Vikings that we have from JJD to go with our Conte. Not a horde but a battle in minature!
Best Wishes & Keep Collecting if you can,

Exactly what i was thinking, Vikings, civilians, priests, defenders, animals, buildings. Would be a great diorama story.

Playing Fields of Glory II Medieval (google for pics) and giving in to JJD's 1066. 10 Saxons (1 w/banner) and 3 Norman Cav. and 2 Mad Vikings (1 w/banner) from TF to add to our old, old Conte.
Will show pics eventually.
Love ths range, but then that's true for all JJD

Fantastic display and photography, but then again this series is so “displayable”;)

Good looking set up Mike ! :salute::

John has done a superb job on those Bannermen they really look great and though I'd like to own a few myself, I really have to resist ! {sm2}

Thanks Steve. I know what you mean by resisting temptation. I have also reached that point in my life as well as lack of display space that I am also starting to be very selective in what I currently collect as well as controlling my urge to start collecting a new range.

Mike;

I am aware that Envy is not a good thing...but I am envious !
Excellent collection.
Thank you for posting.

Thank you very much . . . If you turn green you will be all set for St. Patrick's Day 🤣😂
