Scale vs " Eye scale" ??? (1 Viewer)

The problem with your post is that you (and the OP) assume your preference is the right way to collect. That does not appeal to me and others. We do like the details and understanding the nuances. That is a legitimate way to enjoy the hobby as well.

These threads go poorly when one form of collector assumes the other is wrong and condescendingly tells them to collect differently.

That is the problem. Assuming there is only one way to collect and enjoy the hobby and others are wrong

If OP means original poster?
I am sorry if I was misunderstood, I in no way feel there is a right way or wrong way to collect these things. I am a old car guy and have a 54 that I bought when I was 15,Now a lot of my friends would have retro moded this car to put better brakes on it , also it has the same AM radio it came with. Both of those items could be replaced and the car would be a better car for it But I like the originality of drum brakes and having no power steering, it makes it harder to drive as you have to pay attention. Now thats my preference, it doesn't mean I'm right, in fact my 71 coupe should have the points replace for electronic ignition, but I won't. Cause that is what I like. I'll never tell someone how to spend their money. Nor that my way is better. because it truly depends on your prioritizes for your purchase not mine. I love the fact the guys on here but something and paint it, and to hell with resale value. Not for me, but I am impressed.

I was just curious how important a item being perfect in scale with he corresponding figures was to everyone. I just got back into WW2 recently and the first piece I bought was the new K&C whittman tiger. Well that led to me trying to go back and get the BBG series and then deciding to have a multiple tiger scene. The scale question kept coming up If I ask on the forum if a certain brand would work with another while I was learning what brand works with what brand . I agree with the TG/KC/TCS and the WB /FL/WP/KP split. So I wondered how important it really was to people when making a buying decision.

I put in some thought if I should answer to your post, after all my position in this hobby is exactly this: collect what you like, display as you like, have fun and share this with your fellow collectors. So maybe I expressed my self wrongly, and honestly I’m sorry but I see no problem with my post... As you said its "MY" post and it began with a "To me". I never "assumed" anything, weather my preferences are correct or wrong, better or worse, quite the contrary... it’s simply that, my preference, as “IMHO” in the thread states...
I am totally ok if you disagree with my standards; more than that: I am ok with your and anybody else’s standards; oh how boring would the world be if people didn't have different tastes. I don't think my position is better or worse than any other out there, I just think that everyone should do what pleases them most, there is no right or wrong, and frankly I just stated what pleases me and why. BTW, I do like the details and nuances, size (or scale if some prefer) compatibility, and IMHO every collecting habit is absolutely legit!
There are infinite ways to collect and enjoy our hobby, and that is exactly the key: enjoyment!

Never be apologetic for an honest opinion. Derisive or disparaging comments of a personal nature require an apology, opinions not so much! Everyone has an opinion and they are what makes the forum interesting IMO.

I haven't been here for so long, so i'm asking a question about the scale.
How well or badly do the figures of War Park match the old models of FOV, can I combine them?

FOV models are 1/32 scale. the correct figure size for 1/32 is 54mm. 60mm figures would be too large to be realistic generally. The exception is that some FOV Armor is oversize. The Jagdpanther is 1/31. The Jagdtiger and Pershing are 1/30. I have these in my collection and they are displayed with 60mm W. Britains Fallschirmjagers.

21st Century Kingtigers are also oversize and work well with 60mm figures like WB, Kronprinze, FL and War Park.

I have posted photos of these Panzers with these figures for reference; check my posts.

Thank you.

I have now bought the 8.8 cm from FOV cheaply and see how this harmonizes with the figures of the well-known suppliers.

The WB Falschirmjager are excellent figures and very reasonably priced; they go well with late war Panzers.

Thank you.

No doubt about it, it can be what the eyes sees as pleasing. I always use the analogy .......if a 5ft man came thru the door arm in arm with a 6ft blonde, something would strike me as odd to the eye, conversely, if a 6ft man was hand in hand with a 5ft blonde, that would look right. A very personal thing I guess, beauty is in the beholder. Robin.

which personally annoys me more as not "correct scale" is when the models has failure.
I original collecting airplanes, for this you have excellent possibilities for researching most of all when it was a famous pilot or a well known airplane with unique camo / markings.
I think it is maybe, because the most producer from toy soldiers not produced airplanes as first choice.
It is nothing complete wrong but small failure for example like missing antenna mast at the P-40 Tomahawk Mk IIb --> P-40C, small detailes mixed from different version of Fw-190A or the spinner from Voss Albatros in the wrong colour (must be red) (K&C)
Or wrong canopy at a version of a Bf-109 from Bubi Hartmann (must have the Erla-Haube, not standard canopy), wrong wing configuration at one version of the Friedrichshafen FF.33 (version with rear gunner has smaller wings) (TGM)
Don't missunderstand me, I have all this K&C airplane and they looks good but it would be nicer to get a correct model.
My blu Friedrichhafen I resold because with the wings that was (for me) to significant.
