Just talked to my retail supplier and set #31054 is here :D:D. The Confederate officer's sword blade is actually made of steel just like Aeroart/St Petersburg figures are equipped. I am waiting on delivery in hopes that #31056 and #31066 arrive this month as scheduled - then they can all be shipped together. Its going to be a great month for WB ACW.

Good to hear Mike although from the email I received from Britains I don't think the other 2 sets are shipping this week.

A fine choice and you simply cannot go wrong with WB's Civil War sets and figures. I suspect this particular project will slowly grow to make a very impressive scene so be sure to get your name on the list at your selected dealer's shop for all future installments.

If you have not already seen it, the attached image is the next scheduled set and then we've heard Ken alluding to a future WB non "Blue and Grey" companion release as well.

My 31054 arrived today. As stated by others it's a great set. The stainless saber should be mandatory on all ACW releases.

I am very excited about these new sets - I love the flag bearer figure !

You really have to appreciate the detail in these figures - simply outstanding. I am looking forward to collecting more ! :D

I believe its no surprise to anybody that I am a big fan of WB ACW and anything sculpted by Ken Osen. This is because (IMHO) the Civil War figures offered by WB since their partnership with 1st Gear are some of the best on the market today. This is a result of Richard Walker and of course Ken Osen. Most of you know that Ken is an avid historian and also once a very, very serious ACW re-enactor. He is also an extremely talented artist. When he sculpts a figure you can be assured that he has done his research on every aspect of the figure (or building) he is working on. From the proper head-gear, down to the brogans on their feet, the carriage of weapons, the uniforms, accroutements, et al, the accuracy is almost always "spot-on" with no glaring historical inaccuracies. Case in point; notice the patch on the Confederate's knee - it has been represented accurately. It was customary then to repair worn clothing by placing a patch on the the inside of the apparel and neatly stitched - as in this case. Garish pieces of cloth hastily "whipstitched" over the tear creating a "hobo" appearance just wasn't done. Their price point can't be beat for this type of sculpting and correctness. I know sometimes we have to wait a little longer for our "goodies" because of schedule delays, but in every case I have always found it to be worth the wait. Oh, by the way did I mention I was a BIG fan of WB ACW?;)

Couldn't agree more Mike. Also to add to this fact that Richard & Ken are extremely helpful. I not yet met either one of them but they have also answered any questions I have had promptly.

Just another reason why I love my Britains :)

DO YOU FEEL THE LOVE ON THIS THREAD !!

Mike - your remarks were right on the money. Lots of attention to detail - top quality figures. Britains have been so good that these guys got me to go back and even buy up the old artillery sets from way back - I am very proud of my ACW Britains collection and look forward to all the new releases ! :D

I love Britain's ACW !! I'm proud to say that I have almost figure produced since the late 90's. I do have every figure that has been sculpted my the genius "Ken Osen". Like I've said before, Ken should have his own reality series !

My WB #31054 arrived this afternoon and I am very, very pleased with it. Having been a member of Co. K, 2nd WI INF RGMT, Iron Brigade/Black Hats when I used to re-enact the ACW, I know that the white canvass gaitors quickly turn a permanent muddy tan once worn in inclement weather. For that reason I found the gaitors on the Iron Brigade figure too stark white and decided to subdue them with a "wash" and some dry brushing to make the figure look more like a veteran. This photo also shows the use of the new Hudson & Allen large and small bushes.
:) Mike
