Here are a couple more scratch built trees I,ve been messing around with. The 2 bigger trees are branches from the backyard stuck into shaped wall foam and then I drilled them out to add in some dried flowers for branches and leaves. I spray painted them to color, then flocked the bases and add more bushes and plants ect into the base.

The second tree is one I just started tonight. I found these plastic flower type bushes at Micheals crafts on sale yesterday buy one get one free so each one cost me $1.50 and you can make a tree out of each one! You could even just cut the stem and stick these right into foam and have a passable tree but I went one step further and made a tree trunk out of clay around the metal stem.
Its still not dry yet I just finished making it and it still needs touching up and painting but you can see the work I did on it better this way. I,ll post more pictures when I finish and get it painted.

I added a couple of figures for scale also, they are Italeri plastics that I painted up. I painted the Prussian up as a Russian.

Here are the photos!

Here is a picture of the clay and wire tree finished and also a couple of other new ones I made from stuff I found growing in the woods on a nature trail. I just sprayed them green and drilled out a branch piece and stuck them in.

I really like the way that one came out also but it was a lot of work and the clay shrunk and cracked on me and had to be touched up but it came out nice in the end. The other trees were made from dried flowers I found in the woods.
I,m not that crazy about the one one the right in this photo, it was made from some weeds I found in my backyard. I was thinking of painting the branches like I did on the other tree to the far left in the diorama to see if it will improve the look of it???:( It was worth a shot right? The stuff was free! I think I,ll just use that stuff for plants and shrubs in the future. I like the way the tree on the left in this picture came out though! It was made from store bought dried flowers, Mini gyp I believe it was called???
