It was a form of spaced armor. You will see early ones without it, but the frontal armor was too thin for a heavy armored car.

Since it was a temporary solution, they eventually increased the frontal armor itself and removed that portion. You see it mostly during Barbarossa and Fall Blau.

Agree this would make a great addition, think the radio frame, if included, would be fiddly and might have to be separate.

Good choice, but there are many things we want, as many as there are individual collectors, I like to see a new Hetzer, the Bergepanther repainted for the winter Theatre, some German damaged armour. On the Allied side, an M8, M29 Weasel, British Sherman [both Normandy and Western Desert], British infantry, the list is long.

Ah yes. Very nice. This would make a great piece for K&C to revisit. Russian Front, Arnhem and Normandy. Grey version. A Camo version.
