always liked Sean Bean...
from Golden Eye (006)...to Lord of the Rings...to Game of Thrones...
was shocked when they killed him off Season 1 on GOT...

Your welcome Brendan.
As you say not covered that often.

It is a terrific set of 3 documentaries. Quite surprised to see the great man's reaction to the noises of volleys and cannon fire. You might have thought there would have been quite a bit of that during the making of Sharpe. Maybe they added the sound later? Still a fascinating and informative watch. More please!!

You can find this and many similar docos on Youtube etc. I watched this series several years ago, I was also surprised at his apparent sensitivity to the noise and general ignorance of the weapons considering his many action roles. I like his acting in all of his movies, even when he has played inept characters as in Ronin, I guess we sometimes forget he is an actor after-all.

I met "George Kennedy" several years ago and when I shook his hand he had the softest hand of any man I ever met which really surprized me what with all the action pictures he had been in.Actors eh.

I always enjoyed reading the Sharpe books and seeing them transformed into almost new stories in the TV series. Just a shame they never got around to filming Sharpe's Devil.

They are books I read and re-read. Cornwell started a genre really as there are series of similar, military themed, novels now. I have found them for the Crimea / Indian Mutiny and the English Civil War so far. All good stuff.
