Need some help for keeping my K&C database up to date and accurate when it comes to second editions or repaints/reissues (not sure what to call them). When did the following two sets officially get released? I've not seen them in the dispatches, and sometimes miss the announcement threads.

DD107-01 - Landing Craft Assault (#LCA 711)
WS078-01 - Atlantic Wall Set (K11)

Also, does the release of these sets also mark the retirement of their predecessors? (If DD107-01 was released 2009/08, for example, would DD107 retire that same month). The same applies for this set:

AK030-01 - Panzer II Tank Set

It was announced for December, but does that mean AK030 is now retired?

Lastly (sorry for the length!), I suspect the new repaint of the Hurricane will have a new catalog number, so is the original now retired?

RAF007 - Hawker Hurricane Mk.I

Thanks!

Rich,

I'll try to see if I can answer your questions.

New Landing Craft - I believe Andy made an announcement here. If you check his posts, you may be able to find the answer. The announcement of the new one means that the old one is sold out.

Atlantic Wall - I do believe it was in the dispatches when the British/Canadian releases were announced.

AK 30 - Believe this was retired sometime ago.

First Hurricane - This was retired almost immediately because only 400 were made.

Hope that helps a little bit.

Also, in checking on some things that were in dispatches, please look at this, put together by Pete Reuss, very helpful, K & C Dispatches.

Hi Brad,

Thanks for the follow-up. I actuallly have the dispatches downloaded from late 2002 to about this past June from either Pete's site, or via postings to the forum. This is what I used to build the database of released/retired dates. I saw the posting for the original bunker, the "K12", but did not see anything specific for the re-release, the "K11", other than it shows on K&C's site now. Same for the LCA "711" vs. the "718" that came out in the dispatches. Going to comb the postings and see if I can track down something on them, but was hoping someone might know off hand.

The Hurricane at 400 would definitely be released/retired right away! (same as an "SL" I would assume). Guess I didn't catch the low production number, as I wasn't planning on picking that model up.

The AK030 shows in the dispatches as released in 2007/02, but hasn't shown up in the dispatches as officially retired. With the AK030-01 being released w/o the Italian infantry I'm figuring that officially retires the AK030, but I wanted to be sure.

Thanks,

-Rich

Rick,

I looked through the Forum and found this email from Fanny I received on or about September 22 as a member of the Collectors Club:

"Dear Online Collectors Club member,

The launch of DD107 Landing Craft Assault has proved to be successful and the 1st batch of production was sold out quickly. We’re pleased to advise the 2nd batch of production has just came in today, BUT this time it’s with a new marking “LCA 711” (Code# DD107-01); and this will replace the DD107 in LCA 718 marking.

In case you have not yet bought the Landing Craft, quickly grab one before it's gone. If you have already obtained the "LCA 718" marking, why not get the "LCA 711" and form a nice display?"

I suspect that the bunker is the same situation but haven't looked exhaustively.

Regarding AK 30, Bill Sager on his site, which I consider authoritative, doesn't list it as retired. Why K & C re-issued it is a bit of a head scratcher.

I picked up the 711 version of the LCA last week for that very reason. I was worried it would be too late if I waited much longer!! Now acquiring more figures to go with it.

I am not aware that AK 30 has retired.
However I would say it's sales were affected by the fact it came with the three Italians which not all fans of the Pz II wanted.
