I've always been fascinated by this old company which made acetate figures. Just look at the incredible range. It's a pity that probably all the moulds and masters have long disappeared.

I managed to buy this piece off eBay and the quality of the castings is excellent. All the parts were easily separated without breakage. Using the head and torso, I intend to convert this piece into a WWI poilu of the early period.

Hi Victor,

I have an unmade Segom Napoleonic figure kit amongst my stash of old figures. It came with a small tube of acetone, which I believe is the recommended glue for the plastic they are made from. I don't know how the plastic reacts to other glues and thought it worth mentioning.

Will be watching your thread:)

Hello Scott,

Lucky you. They are as rare as hen's teeth (Carl Barks).

Confession - I actually have three of the same Segom figure, two unmade. I am just working on this half-finished piece. I decided to use only the head and torso and have started to make up the legs from a wire armature covered with putty which was then inserted into the torso and allowed to set. I am now starting to build up the trousers.
