Nicely done, Nathan! Very nicely detailed. Did you use a wash on the face and on the pelisse and dolman? You've got the casting's details popping very nicely against their background colors.
@Louis--you're correct, the Chasseurs a Cheval wore a hussar uniform, as light cavalry, but had their special designation. It was a similar development, in the name and uniform, to what happened to the British light dragoon regiments, I think, except that they eventually were converted into hussars in name, too.
@everyone, I agree, you're all right, too, that the pelisse was worn closed over the dolman, in cold weather. There are contemporary illustrations from the Seven Years War that show hussars from the various armies, bundled up that way.
