Hi Treefroggers, I have been away for awhile, do to home projects and foam brick making. I will be signing up to the Treefrog auctions sometime after the new year. I will be selling painted, primed, and non painted brick foam sheets in various sizes. They tend to be in 3" intervals, 1Foot wide, 15" wide by various heights. I'm still working out the kinks to my priceing scheme. I know there are alot of really good dio makers out there who will be able to take my brick work, and create awesome buildings. The bricks go real well with the Conte, and King and Country scale. Here are a couple of buildings I made with the small brick.

As you can see, I need to work on my photo skills, I think because the bricks are so small, they don't photo good. I like to blame the camera, few more.

I'm relearning this posting, I forgot how time consumeing it was. The windows are made and sold at Hobbybunker, the roofs are made from cardboard cerial boxes cut in long strips and sniped to look like cedar or slate.

Mike...

the photos are fine...:D

but the brick work is spectacular...

very nice work...

those will sell easily...

As I said, I hope to Register at Changing Guard Auctions after the New Year. I will do a buy at price, and will try and give dio makers deals like, buy four get one free. I know there are alot of Treefroggers who do brick work, and they know how time consumeing it is, I don't want to mention any names, I don't want to leave anybody out. I hope to hear from some of you in the coming months. I hope everybody had a Merry Christmas, and I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year.:)

These bricks are great! Mike gave me a few small samples of these brick sheets a couple of years ago when he first started making this smaller brick pattern and with a couple of small pieces I was able to make this building in the This how to link I will enclose. http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6471
I know he has been fine tuning these bricks since then also so I,m sure that he has gotten them even better by now and I hope to get my hands on some more of these soon and see what I can come up with this time with a little more to work with then just the couple of sample walls I had to work with the first time!
These are some real nice bricks guys!!!

Very, very nice Mike. I guess you invented a press device using heat to make all of those bricks. There is no way you are going to be cutting them out by hand unless you are in prison and have nothing else to do. LOL Just kidding Mike. Excellent work.
Nick;)

Nick, these are hand done right now, no word of a lie, my jigs that I refer to, just make certain stages easier. I am carpentry skilled, so I am always trying to make things easier and quicker to do. However, I still have to hand press all the vertical lines to keep them straight to recieve grout. I had you and Alex, and debrito in mind when I thought of mass produceing. I have always enjoyed all of your work. I will be doing enhanceing brick, to give that brick layering effect that the Great Ken Osen does. I have even thought up a modular building design, so you can join my 1 foot x 1 foot brick sheets, and make buildings whatever size you want. It should save you guys tons of time, and leave you to more detailing that your famous for. I will be doing another write to tell you how many fullbricks are in a 1 Ft. x 1 Ft sheet. I can only imagine what someone like you could do with these sheets.:)

I just got done calculating how much time I put into each one of these 1' x1' sheets. I have my own lingo also. There are 109 scores, 109 wedges, that is the Horizontal Lines. Then 4,142 Jabs, and 4,142 Jibs. This produces 4,013 full brick per 1'x1' brick sheet of my smallest ones. This means, at $40.00 a sheet, it averages out $10.00 for every 1,000 full brick. My bricks are not exact for my own reasons. But they are very consistent, and so small, you really don't notice the slightly smaller or larger rows, until you look at them magnified. I would encourage anyone to try and make them, then you would see how much time and labor go into making them. I put on my Classic Rock station in the morning, about 7:30 or 8:00, and just do them till lunch. Then after lunch, I do them till 2:30 or 3:00. I just enjoy making them, and it relaxes me. When I get finished this latest batch, which is 8 sheets, I will try to put together a How To to show what you can do with them. I might be a little nuts, but I'm 52 and Toy Soldiers and miniatures make me Happy.:)

You do know that you are crazy don't you? LOL Just kidding. Hey I was born in 1956 so we are neck and neck when it comes to age. I know how long it takes and if an era is made and so on. You've seen my brick work. For the longest time I wanted to build an all brick warehouse type building but the thought of making all those jibs and jabs! I'll do it soon.
You are a great brick maker.
I'd like to see your style of making bricks, maybe I can learn a trick or two from you.
Nick:)

Thanks for the kind words Nick, but right now I must keep my brick making techniques hush, I am working on a machine type press to make these darn things quicker. But there will always be jibbing to do. I can't show people how I do them, that's like asking the makers of Coca-Cola to tell Pepsi its secrete formula, hope you understand.:)

I wouldn't think that you would give out your secrets but you did mention a possible workshop and if one has a workshop then certain techniques will be exposed...:D

The How To or Workshop will just show what you can do with the all ready finished pieces. It will show the possibilities of how many windows will fit across a 1' section, what size will look best etc., not going into how they are made. I'm trying to sell my product, this is what I have been doing off and on since 2000. It has taken me alot of trial and error to reach the point I've gotten to. This is what I enjoy doing in this Hobby, making these bricks available to guys like you, can only help you save alot of time. I also sell already made things now, to people mostly women in the Lemax Village Hobby. I know there will be alot of people asking me how I do this or that, but my answer will most likely be, I'd like to tell you, but I can't. I also would like to state again, these are not perfect, but I'm working hard everyday to improve my quality and quantity.:)

Whatever you do, never give up your secrets! I don't blame you because I feel the same way about how I make my products. I think even if I showed people how I made a building it would be too confusing because I never use the same technique twice. I just go with the flow. Mike, it's apparent you love what you create and you do it very well. It's all about passion in what you do. If you have no passion then it's not fulfilling and becomes boring after a while. Our passion shows in what we create. Keep up the good work my friend.
Nick

Thanks Nick, spending the amount of time I do working on this stuff, does show passion for it. Making things with your own two hands is fun. I like just looking at other peoples work, then bam, it motivates me to try and make something similar, but different. That is what this Hobby is all about. I'm sure you always have nine things going on at once in your head, then you see something, and want to start trying to make something like it. I think you guys do great dio's at BSP, I always look in for ideas.Keep up the great work.:)

I guess there is not much intrest in my brick sheets, the price must be to high. I have tried to register on the Treefrog Auction, but no matter what variation of user name I type, it says it is nonsecure. I have tried calling at the central business hours, someone picks up, but I am getting no response to my hello. I hope to try and sell these sheets in the future. If anyone wishes to PM me, I will let you know how to reach me and buy some. I will try and make a How To on how to make buildings out of these sheets. Thank You for your support, Mike.:)

Ok...my post is really late in the game...but this is just what I am looking for! Are these available yet and if so, I want to know about the stone foundations and side coinings. Do you do those too? Do your panels include some or all of these combinations? Looks like a great product if it is versatile enough! Count me in!

Nicholas, the answer is yes, some of the what I call side buildings have the side stone work and bottom foundation work on them. I see you live in the same state as me, you should try an make a trek to Salem and see them first hand. I could show you just how easy these are to build, plus I have different brick colors to choose from. Thanks for your interest.:)

I'm really surprised there seems to be no interest in these...looks like a great product and I think the price is more than fair...I do French Indian War...so I really can't blend them in my era...but they look like they would be fun to work with and seem to be a great product...
