"September 1812" - K&C vs First Legion (1 Viewer)

First legion figures are more finely detailed and sculpted.
I enjoy "playing" with my figures and constantly setting up new dioramas.
I think the K&C figures are a lot more robust if you are going to handle them on a consistant basis. First Legion are more of a connoisseur range and ideally should be put in a static display.
I also think that the K&C figures are more "chunky" so to a "purist" they may not go as well with First Legion.
Enjoy them all.......

I would agree although I think you can move the FL figures around just fine but they are certainly not toys. Lucky for me I am a pragmatist, not a purist.;):D

after reading what you wrote, I am starting to realize that I am a 'purist.'

In fact, the First legion figures are a lot less chunky than K&C... The artillery figures from First legion are more chunkier than the line infantry. I thought the artillery figures barely do match K&C in scale (as I've commented in a First Legion thread before)

The line infantry, however, don't match with K&C as they are a lot smaller IMO.

I will post side by side pics later.

That does not fit my experience. There is a difference and the K&C figures are certainly more chunky, which is part of the reason why they are less accurate. Take a look at my posted side by side comparisons in this related thread for example.

If the diffences shown here define a purist than I guess I am even more pleased not to be one; there are so many more important things to worry about. Frankly there is much more variation between actual soldiers than represented by these.;)

Nice dio. What is that you used for turf?

Thanks

"Early that morning, before dawn, we heard shouts from the sentries and musket fire. Within a minute as I rushed into the courtyard, there was a terrible beating upon the gates. The gates gave way and in poured the enemy. Our men were cut down as they tried to secure the gates. The slaughter was unbearable."
From the diary of a captured Russian Officer.

Well guys, my First Legion infantry arrived this morning. Here they are up against K&C. What do you guys think?
