Serious Tariff Question (9 Viewers)

Are US dealers going to have 2 prices, pre-Tariff and then Tariff prices ?
Could be 3 to 5 prices?
Pre Tariff - current prices
Tariff Prices - New stock
Tariff Prices - Restocking
Post Tariff - if and when the tariffs come off - depends if they completely come off or the % comes down.

Therefore when the dust settles there could be a blip in prices for stuff released during tariffs. Which could or could not stay after the tariffs have gone or been reduced!

One imponderal is you live in a capitalist system and like bank rate changes or fuel price changes. Prices tend to go up at the level [or more] than any forced increased costs/rates and do so fairly quickly, but in a weird way they do not come down as fast when costs/rates drop.

I would imagine that while these tariffs are in effect, dealers will not carry much of in the way of an at hand stock, and everything from China will need to be ordered in specially, meaning manufacturers after what they are currently committed to, they will have to reduce the size of their orders to the factories and painting studios and to get it wrong by over ordering will leave them struggling to survive.
I see that computers, phones and a few other electronic gadgets are going to be exempt from the raised tariffs other than the Fentanyl tariff.

I am not sure if the answer is known yet regarding new stock. I would not anticipate a change in stock arleady here in the US. I would say to US collectors, now may be a good time to fill in the holes on your want list for items previously released, I would imagine that stock is dwindling quick from US dealer inventory.

It is discouraging to hear that some collectors are pushing back on dealer surcharges related to tariffs.

The surcharge is not a cash grab and it it is not profit.

There has been lots of talk about all us doing our part for the hobby. This is a fair solution.

It all reminds me of the great quote from Ronin:

“Everyone’s your brother ‘till the rent comes due.”

This is a bit of a head scratcher. Take the recent War Park paratroopers. They cost $45 and are currently out of stock. When they are restocked they will now cost $110. I like them but not that much. That’s First Legion territory, speaking of which if you want to add a Paratrooper, Treefrog still has a few FL in stock and they will only cost $60 and they are excellent.

Obviously, dealers can’t be expected to absorb the tariffs or they won’t be in business long. On the other hand, it’s too much for collectors to absorb.

On Fox News they said Trump knows what he is doing and he has a plan, but they also said after his phyiscal he was 6ft 3 inchs tall and weighted 224 pounds. I checked - Chris Hemsworth is 6ft 3 inches tall and weights 215 pounds, and they look like twins. i see 2 ways this could change in the medium term, in 2026 the Dems take the house and the Senate by big numbers and then he is impeached for breaking a number of amendments/laws or Trump could change careers and take over as the new THOR in the next Marval movie. After all he is the same height and weight as the guy who normally plays THOR.
In the short term the Bond market tanks and he is forced to give up the tariffs, but it is Navaro who is behind this, so he blames him and gets rid of him.

To all in the American TS family, we, on the outside, wish you nothing but good and know you will get through this.

4 cartons of Chinese manufactured pre tariff priced tanks on way from US today . It will start hurting soon as my supplier is running low on stock

Sadly, I think US dealers will fold over this, and the US market will be deprived of new product for the foreseeable.

Good luck to the idiots out there who are prepared to pay these ridiculous tariffs.

Are we still allowed free speech?

Have I said too much?

Not just US dealers, if manufacturers can't afford to stay in business, there won't be anything to buy.

As to free speech, no you are not if you live in uk now.
