I see Nick has updated his site to say that an anouncement on sets 25 & 26 is due soon. Has anyone got any speculation or hopes for these new figures?

Bump!

It's been a few months so I'm hoping someone has heard something. Failing that, again, speculation is invited. I'm wondering whether, given the upcoming movie, Texas Rangers might be in the pipleline? Nick had floated the topic a few years ago. A Commanchero type opponent mightn't be a bad follow-up? I'd also love to see Nick's take on Apaches as well.

In terms of ancients, maybe some Celt opponents for the Romans. These might feature torques, those longer shields and a Druid. Numidians, especially mounted ones, would be a great addition too, as they could feature in several ancient wars.

I'm hoping for more CW, some fully accoutered , non "character" infantry or some buglers and officers for the mounted cavalry would be nice. TSSD's WW II and Roman series looks good for the folks that like those eras so maybe those will be next. I'm looking forward to seeing what ever they do.

If I were a betting man I would think something to do with the Alamo. He is doing more buildings with the Alamo theme and if I,m not mistaken I think Nick is origionaly from San Antonio.

I'm sure if he does, Nick's Alamo figures will not be The Patriot, Northwest Passage, ZULU, Mask of Zorro, and Confederates in a new package. Please Nick please. 54mm...54mm.

I too prefer whatever figures made to be 54mm, and also one request - no more computer sculpting! not yet anyways, the hand sculpted figure is still wayyyyyyy better than the computer!

Do you mean like the TSSD Roman's?

Do you mean like the TSSD Roman's?

Yeah, I guess that's all I mean really, that's the only set of figures I know that are computer generated, and I am not a huge fan - and I still purchased a bunch!! Those Romans tower over conte figures as well.

From TSSD's website -

NEW RELEASES WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN MAY PRIOR TO THE TEXAS SHOW.

SET # 25 WILL ACTUALLY BE RELEASED IN SEPTEMBER IN CHICAGO. WE HOPE.

SET # 26 WILL BE RELEASED BEFORE CHRISTMAS. WE HOPE.

I am guessing from their previous post we might see some texas rangers......great tie in with the lone ranger movie???????

With the new alamo buildings likely more alamo figures?????

I'm thinking that this evolving piece is Nick's clue as to the identity of at least one of the new sets. It seems to point to an American frontier theme?

IN FEBRUARY, IT HAD ALREADY PROVEN TO BE A COLD WINTER.

THE VAST EXPANSE OF LAND AND THE HOPE FOR FUTURE OPPORTUNITY

HAD ATTRACTED PEOPLE FROM MANY DIFFERENT REGIONS AND COUNTRIES.

THESE MEN AND WOMEN WERE ALL OF STRONG WILL AND SPIRIT.

TO BE CONTINUED .....

Fighting settlers?

"Fighting settlers?"

Maybe Oregon Trial? Cattle to drive, wagons, women in bonnets! It allows Nick to sell a whole lot of his great Indians again too!

Nick's latest clue -

EVENTUALLY AND INEVITABLE , DISPUTES DEVELOPED BETWEEN THE RULING POWER AND THE LOCAL POPULATION.

DISPUTES THAT EVENTUALLY LED TO MUCH MORE THAN WAS ORIGINALLY ANTICIPATED.

BLOOD WAS SHED.

It looks like the Alamo now.

Or The American War of Independence....or any colonial war.

Non-movie Alamo defenders would nice....without fringed buckskins.

VARIOUS GROUPS OF MEN BEGAN TO BAND TOGETHER IN DIFFERENT AREAS OF THE REGION.

THESE GROUPS OF MEN WERE INDIVIDUALLY LED BY BRAVE MEN OF VISION.

THE VISION OF A NEW LAND .... EVEN THOUGHTS OF A NEW REPUBLIC.

INITIALLY, THEY FORMED TO PROTEST INJUSTICES, BUT THEY NOW FORMED UP TO BE FREE.

Well it looks like War of Independence now. Nick's been interested in this range for a while.

The TEXAS War of Independence.

Hi all its been a while sice I posted on here. I've talked to Nick over the years and have pretty much begged him to do Texas War of Independence figures. He told me if he ever did do them, that none of the figures would be in buckskin. The defenders that is. I'm willing to bet we'll see the "Charles Dickens" garb.

"EVEN THOUGHTS OF A NEW REPUBLIC." Yes, this does point to a subsequent republic, as opposed to the first one. As a range it would conform with Nick's efforts in producing Alamo buildings and defences.
