Just seen on a war games site a set of 28mm British commandos in a canoe very similar to the Airfix set I had as a kid. I know I've probable requested such before but as FOB has had the retreat and has now started on the air war surely the next step is taking it to the enemy!

Rob should recognise this shot!:p

...and like the Matchbox commandos you could have grappling hooks and ladders and dinghies too. It's a must!

Commandos on dingies, where do i sign!:)

The Airfix Commando set was my favorite followed closely by the US Paras then Afika Korps etc. From memory, which is far from reliable, I think the Commando canoe was in the 1/72 scale set, but the 1/32 set had some excellent poses including guys with scaling hooks etc. I was very tempted with the earlier K & C Commando set but as very few of my figures are in fighting pose I decided to give them a miss. However with the new LCA and Brit soldiers, some Commandos in canoes would make good extras in the scene.

Dare I suggest some Hobart Funnies - sure sellers imo :D

Cup of tea, slice of cake and surely a bed for the night wouldn't even go far enough for one of Mr Hobarts funnies.

Very nice James, great figures.Have you been playing soldiers on your day off?!!;).The 'Commandos attack on The Stereo' was textbook attack, only to be compared to their 'Commando's attacking up staircase ':D

Rob

The radio didn't stand a chance. The stairs are next...

Cool figures though - it'd be great to see K&C versions.

Its amazing how so many are many of you are mind readers:eek:,i started thinking about commandos about a couple of months ago but never actually got round to posting it in the suggestions page(don't know why:confused:)
Id love to see a cockleshell heroes canoe ( Operation Frankton),or some Commandos from the raids on Vaagso (Norway) Raid or the raid on St. Nazaire (Operation Chariot) or hows a about HMS Campbeltown ,it would be only a small piece.;)
Would they fit into the field of battle series?
Heres hoping:D
regards Steve
