Hi Guys,

How about Squadron leader Brian Lane… Bob Stanford Tuck?

You’ve given me two excellent suggestions… I reckon if I sat down with any one of the dozen or so books I have on the Battle of Britain I could give you at least 20 or 30 more! Now, that’s the easy part… here’s the hard part… Imagine you’re running a company that makes RAF figures and aircraft… Of all of these great pilots exactly which ones do you select… and why?

Best wishes and happy collecting!

Maybe ,Sergeant Josef František :):),Czechoslovak fighter pilot
17 German aircraft and 1 probable, of which 9 were Bf 109s, becoming one of
the top scoring Allied fighter pilots of the Battle of Britain.

Squadron Leader Brian Lane and his men of 19 Squadron. There's a famous picture of them just after landing from a hard turning fight with a buch of yellow nosed 109s. 'Grumpy' Unwin, 'Farmer' Lawson and 'Sandy' Lane stood with the IO, 'Cocky' Dundas is with the group too, he'd make an interesting figure, a seven foot tall beanpole! in the background is a 19 squadron Spit and one of the pilot's private cars... there you are, the perfect BofB diorama and tribute to the 'Few'.
Do I have to do all the 'finking round 'ere or wot?

ps Andy, I'll send you an scan of the photo, all it needs then is your Imperial Decree... then your faithful minions will be hard at it!
pps If anyone can put the piccies on here I'll e-mail 'em to them and everybody can have a look?

Very much agree. They were very young men in the RAF during the Battle of Britain, the weight of hope and freedom on their shoulders was incredible, but being the calibre of men they were they not only took up the challenge but triumphed. They drove hatred and racism from the skies above this country and in turn began the long road to Victory. God bless every single one of them.

Any pilot or ground crew Andy wants to make is fine by me, they were all Heroes:cool:

Moggy's been done, so how about Squadron Leader 'Skipper'? Just realised I'm a Corporal, so can't resist this one...

Corporal!
Sir!
And where do you think you're taking those vultures?
Officer to the mess, Sir. NCOs to the Guard Room.
Like hell you are! They made this mess. Let them clean it up!
What about the Officer, Sir?
Give him a bloody shovel!
