Not sure if anyone has picked up this set or not. I scored it a month or so ago and just love it!!! Having worn all that equipment and stripped and operated the weapons in that squad, this set is the REAL DEAL- Andy and his team take some heat rounds for historical liberties but to me, this set is just dead on.

You have no idea how humiliating it is for me to give the "My favorite KC set" award to a bunch of jarheads. :D

I looked this set over in detail- I even went so far as pulling out my bayonet and the lines, everything, its all there. In fact, if you look closely enough, you can even see the notch on the M2 bayonet case that is used for cutting wire.

If anything, I would make some recommendations on the battle rattle as there are some alternate ways to wear it that are a little more practical- the pro mask has some variants and the E Tool has some alternate positioning as well.

All said though, fantastic set and highly recommended to anyone who is interested in modern troops.

At the moment the title of "My Favourite K&C Set" is a draw between "HK150 the New Mahjong Set" and the entire "Charge of the Scots Greys" displayed as a set.
That might well change when I get my hands on those new LRDG/SAS sets though.

The toss up for me is between the Scots Greys and the 17th Lancers.

Yeah Jim,
I was originally going to include the 17th Lancers but thought better of it as these are a bit of a K&C UK "Special". Like Ron suggests, its really difficult to pin down your absolute favourite set.
:confused::)

That set is very cool. The sniper is one of the best figures out there. Glad you managed to bag the set CC, it doesn't make an appearance very often.

Simon

Thanks Simon- I was sweating it!! I hadn't seen that set in retail shops. A fellow treefrogger gave me the heads up- cannot unfortunately remember his name right now, though I know he was Irish- another great Trans Atlantic hookup.

I'm guessing it was Joe Gleeson (Cannonfodder1971) - very helpful guy.

In all their glory.

Actually, it was a gentleman who I don't see here on the boards very often- he kind of appeared one day, we shot some PMs back and forth and then he disappeared- as if I was visited by some Cyberspace KC angel steering me in the direction of this superior set!! :D

Great looking setup too!! Just curious but does your SAW gunner's eyes - are the pupils sort of leaning to the right or left?? Mine are rolled to the right a bit- it looks like the squatting squadmate has come up next to him and captured his attention.

A Cyberspace K&C angel? They must exist! :D

Ref the SAW gunner, the eyes on mine are looking straight down the barrel. The painter for yours must have been having an artistic day - sounds good.

I concede Harry. That puts the Scots Greys firmly at the top.

Not for me brother- SF04 takes the cake.

Yeah, I know its easy for you Chris. Its possibly cos you have an emotional attachment to SF04 (emotional isn't really the word I mean - personal might be better), although its a magnificent set in its own right.
I chose the Scots Greys cos of the emotional attachment I have for them.
And I also included the Mahjong set cos if I hadn't, then Missus Heid would've made my ears bleed.....:eek::)

Jim,
I'll be posting a couple of snaps of my Scots Greys on the "Close Encounters of the Best Kind" thread, just as soon as they finish uploading to Photobucket and I resize them. Brilliant set, isn't it.
:):)

For me, it has to be the Matilda...it is the only K/C piece, that I had bought at retail, sold for market overvalue, had big time sellers remorse, and then rebought at current overvalue.........Never have done that for a set before......Michael

Louis

I might agree - but, I havent seen them up close yet ! Some of those Crusaders look really too ! Like that Bishop with the Flag...Oh My

But, Scots Greys and the New French Calvary would have to be at the top of my list ! :D

Looking forward to the pictures mate. Yep, that set is fantastic. Only wish Andy would make more. They still need an officer.

The photos are posted Jim. "Discussion - Dioramas - Close Encounters of the Best Kind". I do need to straighten out some of the swords. Didn't notice they were quite so bent out of shape until I saw the photos.
Yeah, it would be a dream come true if that range were to be expanded. Addition of an officer and a couple more charging figures would make the set even more impressive. :)
