A true Canadian hero. When he died he received a state funeral, since he was Canada's last living VC recipient. An interesting note that a bunch of Canadian soldiers were bused in from nearby CFB Petawawa for the funeral because the government was worried there would be turnout for the funeral, but thankfully a very large crowd ended up turning out to honour this man's life.
