I got this classic large set from Kilia zinnfiguren. It depicts Shapur I victory over the Roman Emperor Valerian.
I've just taken it out of cold storage and have started to paint the figures. I've already prepared a large frame with black velvet background for this display.

Painted more of the figures. Several of the figures were joined a the base and were obviously cast from the same mould. As I intend to place them artistically within my frame, I separated these figures. Starting to focus on this batch. For eg, the parasol bearer was cast in front of the mounted Shapur. After separation, it makes semse for the parasol to be shading Shapur.

Looking at the style of the figures, several engravers were involved in producing this vintage set.

I've completed the top row of figures. That's 10%......

At least by selecting X figures to be done as a batch, I can hit milestones.

These pieces seem to represent Shapur on horse, with his harem and Emperor Valerian surrendering to him.

Completed the cataphracts and two musicians on camels. That's another milestone of 40%. Getting there.
