Shelf Dios (2 Viewers)

Thanks guys.

I use to go out shooting quite a bit. I live across the street from the largest alligator population in FL – The State says around 22,000 in the lake. I''m a rare native of FL so I like to get out in the swamps. My mother was Creek and father Cuban.

Any gator boots? Oops PC incorrect. Does not sound very endangered.

I found some branches after the storm that had fallen down. Took the small pieces and laid them out in varying angles. They add some realism to the scene and they cost nothing. Trick now is to not over do them and dull the fake trees down

I've made a couple of these for guys....I call them "Desk Dios" perfect for the office to display a set of men. I have one in my office and I love it because it is always a conversation starter. These are easy to make and a great gift to give along with a set of men.

Hi
I really like the Ikea setup. It seems like it would provide a lot of space for future expansion. Does anyone know how deep the shelves are? I am trying to figure out if the JG Miniature bases would fit on them.
Thanks
Andy

Andy the inside of shelf is 10 inches deep 30 inches wide so you are limited with depth.

If you have the bases BBA01 02 05 and 09 you can cut 2 inches off the cobble pieces in BBA05 that go behind 01 02 and 09.

BBG01 02 03 05 06 are 10 pieces so you need 12 deep, 30 wide. I use a different cabinet for the BBG bases.

Cheap and ultra realistic those twigs. Carry on.

I was hoping the shelves would be 12 inches deep so the 12 x 12 base would fit.
I have several of the 12 x 12 squares of the dry grass which I use for North Africa and do not want to cut them. I also have ordered several of the d day pieces and was going to create a beach scene but I believe they are also 12 x 12. I still like the looks of the display you set up but am not sure if it will work for what I want.
Thanks
Andy

I just found another display case called the Granemo from Ikea that seems to be deep enough. Listed dimensions are 63x15x68 so the shelves should be at least 12 inches deep. Ikea does not have it in stock......just my luck. Anyone else know of a place selling affordable display cases?
Thanks
Andy

Yeah, now I am somewhat embarrassed by the plastic trees. Have to do something about them. Just bought a big bag of pine trees too:eek:

Glad you like the dio debrito

Paint them My General using you magic paint brush using a matte finsih and dry bushing for effect and they'll end up looking like the real thing.Your humble aide......The Lt. Captain

The Granemo is a very nice piece Andy. I've seen them all over the Orlando store - It is solid spruce therefore higher cost. I really like this piece but wanted something that looked like a build-in going all the way to the ceiling.

I made this one early last year as a first attempt for a scenic base. While sometimes I fool around with bushes, trees, rocks and whatever scenic items to create a display, I left this one untouched.
The figures shown are by Figarti from their Lewis & Clarke series.

Absolutely, KV
the only catch right now is that I have to get me a new printer first. After that I will try setups including backgrounds.
Looking forward to it.

I have some great pictures that I would love to print. Any ideas on a good printer where the ink does not cost a bundle or the cartidges are refillable?

Those Ikea shelves look neat. I looked at them in Chicago but had no room to bring any home. I like their furniture. KV and Konrad you posted some interesting scenes. Nice pictures. Leadmen
