SHERMANS… Tanks-a-lot! (1 Viewer)

You will regret not getting it once it is sold out. I was hesitant, but they look so good in person, even better than the photos.

Terry

I haven't seen it in person yet but I will be at Kings X in San Antonio on Friday and then....all bets are off. I really want to get some additional WW I pieces and a few extra Naps....must stay focused!:D It really does look like a great piece though. I always regretted missing out on the D-Day beach landing sets and the new allied sets that go with the LCA look great so I suspect I will end up breaking down....very little will power:eek:. Oh well, I really don't eat much in July anyway:D.

I'm torn on the LCA piece. I just know if I get one I'll end up trying to get enough of them to land a battalion!

So, OK, let's say that a battalion has 600 men (a battalion can have more or less men but just for the sake of this example I used 600) and each LCA can accomidate 36 troops, that means you need 17 LCA's. $2,703 would be your bill. That's not too bad, but now with 17 LCA's you gotta' get the men to fill them. 600 men at $32 each would be $19,200. Now that's when the dollar amouts start getting big.:eek::D

I have five of the eight shermans shown and I hope K&C continues to make more versions. How's about an M32?

Hi Guys,

Saw some recent posts about my favourite tank… the good old M4 SHERMAN.

Like many of you I am a big fan. Over the years the Sherman has played (and continues to play) an important part in the K&C story… All the way back to the early 1990’s…

Some of you may have seen the very first Sherman we ever produced. It was an all-wood one, hand-carved in China which may look a wee bit crude now but totally “bowled” me over at the time… And we only made one, which still resides in a place of honour at K&C Head Quarters in Hong Kong. The Military Police figure alongside was one of the very first WW2 pieces we produced for Del Prado back in year 2000.

Next up is the Desert “JUMBO” as most of you know these particular Shermans never served with the 8th. Army in North Africa… nor, I think, with any British unit. However this little model was made in Vietnam in or around 2002…

We sent a sample down there to see if they could duplicate what China was making for us at the time… They could but not quite as good or at the same price. When the sample came back I “repainted” it in “desert” camo for a little shop display in HK.

Finally, photo 3… a collection of assorted K&C Shermans over the years… You can see a couple of “Philippine”—made M4’s in the front row as well as our “movie” Easy Eight… the hull is from an Israeli “Isherman” while the turret is from an M4A4 76mm gun tank.

Most of the others most of you will recognize. There’s still plenty of Shermans for K&C to do… including a Firefly. Congrats to Rick on a beautiful new one… I look forward to our own.

Anyway… over and out… best wishes and happy collecting!
Andy C.

Brad,

Our good buddy Brian (Warbuff26) has PM'd me and volunteered to post the photos for me, so I forwarded them to him. Assuming he doesn't balk when he sees how many I sent, they will be posted before your return. Again, thanks to both Brad and Brian for their help posting for the computer illiterate.

Here are some.....I'm at work and will resize and send the others upon my return from my 9am meeting! :)

Louis

I think you should collect some Sherman Tanks ...

They must make some noise all together in that room !

Hey Louis, didn't they make about 48,000 - call that a collection?:confused::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::D

Common, Kev, I did my best. I know I don't have the most recent winter damaged one . . . or the one of a kind long barreled 76mm Sherman either . . . not for want of trying on that first one! :p:D

Louis forgive me I cut off some of your Shermans.......this is how the picture should have looked! ;)
