Hi Rick,

now that all these shermans have landed on the beaches with the landing craft, we need trains to transport them inside the country

even if not a train, flat beds for the tanks would be very welcome , but they would have to make more than a hundred

Don't forget the French National Railways (SNCF) - although the RAF and USAAF tried hard to wreck them, the Allied engineers tried just as hard to get them repaired again and running. The "Red Ball Express" is a romantic vision of the hard driving truckers moving across country but to carry a lot of stuff you need a train. The US shipped locomotives, cars, etc to Europe to replace destroyed rolling stock.

I do agree that the tank transporter trucks are always a cool display item, the US M25 (the M26 tractor with M15 trailer), the M19 truck/trailer, the British Scammel. Any of these are impressive display pieces in any scale.
