Should wbritains return to ww2 (1 Viewer)

"Explaining it to my wife," the scariest phrase for all collectors {eek3}

Hate to contradict you my friend, but there is one worse ;

'Darling, we are going to the Somme for a few day's holiday'!{eek3}:wink2:

Understood Rob, but you guys in Europe are so lucky to be close to all those WW I and WW II battlefiields.

We certainly are Brad, but you guys also have Gettysburg, Antietam, Little Bighorn, Pearl Harbor. The sooner they build this plane that can make London to New York in an hour the better mate:salute::

I wish Britains would get back to WW2 in a big way. Being "hefty" 1/32 scale figures, they work with many armored vehicles from Figarti, TGM and FOV. I find First Legion figures too expensive, and K&C, TCS and TGM figures to be too large. So Britains fills a unique spot for me with a versatile scale and price point. Some pics below of Britain's FJs with armor from Figarti and TGM.

Wonderful diorama!

Thanks for the comments. Last set of pics : mix of Britains and ONTC Waffen SS with Figarti's Jagdpanzer L-70. I hope Ken is watching this thread.

Thanks so much for these pics!

I've been shopping around for alternative affordable figures that look right in 1/30 scale next to tanks (KC, Thomas Gunn, Figarti figures are too big for most accurate 1/30 tanks IMO). The First Legion figures look/work great but **** they are expensive. Good to see there are a few other options I can chase down.

As you said, I think Britain's could easily fill a nice niche in WW2. Affordable figures that look right w/ 1/30 vehicles. Hopefully they'll make some new sets, as their current release figures look good to me.

I agree with you. WB could very well supplement FL figures - at a minimum in the background. I actually think that that is well understood in the TS industry based on discussions I had with dealers.

As mention previously, I have been so caught up in scale and proportion issues, which have been solved for the most part. But I forgot about this way of going about things and it is a viable option.

I am pulling mine out today and I am going to go over this again.

Once again thanks for reminding me .

Here are some ONTW figures I did some work on ( As you know basically the same as Britains )

I have an extensive WW2 collection in 1/32. If KC OWN'S that period it's certainly not represented in my collection as I don't own a one.TOO BIG.
Britain's did a very nice Normandy range. I'd like to see at least some Arnhem pieces{ British HVY weapons} maybe some US Marines And Japanese in 54mm. But like you say, in 65-70mm it's been done. Lot's of retired , long sold out sets, and new ones that are too big and too expensive.I like them all, but they simply do not fit with ant of my 54mm collections.
So, for one vote, I say yes.

Hey Fubar!

I agree with you on the scale point. I have pretty much moved my collecting back to the 1/32 (54mm) scale over the last few years and I am now exploring the 28mm possibility for some ancient ranges to rectify space issues. The much lower pricing helps too! {sm4}

Kronprinz WW2 German figures fit this bill if Britains won't get back into WW2. I've got some pictures of Kronprinz up a the "More Manufacturers" section. They are very nice.
