Had a chance to get my FL crusader guys out (such great figures)-and it made me wonder why we've not seen any new additions to the 'Acre' campaign...I could use some more Saracens

Could not agree more. Recently saw the FL Castle ruin in all its glory (it is very large once fully assembled!), and somewhat doubt if it could be fully populated even if you bought each and every FL crusader and Mameluk figure.

There is an FL Castle Ruin??? Are you referring to the damaged walls of Acre?
After years of catching up, I have all the crusader figures....except for one :(

Well done Mike, you've done a great job with the photography on your set up here with the black smoke billowing in the distance. All doesn't look good for the Crusaders ! {eek3}

Mention of Crusaders always makes me think back to as a kid watching the French TV series but dubbed into English called Desert Crusaders, but known in French as Thibaud ou les Croisades. No big budget but nice little storylines.

Great stirring theme music it had !

I'd really like to see some pictures of that--I thought the castle ruin set was only a couple pieces-and no gate was ever released (?)

It is very impressive, but it’s a ruin. I don’t think the gate would have made sense.

For anyone who has ever visited Malta, the colouring of the Battlements, First Legion have used would fit in beautifully. Mind you same can be said for Rhodes !

Wow, thanks for posting those pictures-I'd already invested in the JG castle pieces by the time the FL pieces came out--sure looks awesome

About eight or ten years ago (not sure of the time frame) at the Chicago Toy Soldier Show dinner Matt was the guest speaker, he was asked if he ever considered producing a gate. He stated that he was considering it and then added that there were no definite plans to produce a gate.

Matt indicated the same to me on email back in those days, so I purchased towers and walls in anticipation, but when I followed up months later, he seemed to have cooled and said FL was not a diorama builder, but a toy soldier business, which suggested that was the end of that. Pity, however I managed with a playmobil gate which looks ok, but always thought FL would have done a far better gate, but it is what it is. Robin.

Stunning scene, Mike. Well done. Esp like this shot:
