Simple Castings (1 Viewer)

I am trying my hand at painting. I want to start with "old school" gloss. What companies make simply castings similar to Trophy and the like. I am looking for minimal detail to give myself as much chance of success as possible! {sm3}

Thanks!

Zach,

I am always painting castings, and I show off my work on my website

Toy Soldiers On-Line Gallery
http://members.upnaway.com/~obees/soldiers/

Click though the pages and have a look at what is there because I have the maker's name under each thumbnail, and if there is a particular era / country / war you are considering, you may find examples there, and then know who makes them. If they have a website, there is a link, but I cannot guarantee al are current because some makers are now out of business, or changed their web address.

Feel free to contact me personally if you have any questions obees@upnaway.com

Good luck,

John

Hey Obee,

Excellent site, very helpful with regards to tartans and the like.

I might just have a crack at changing some Gordan's to Blackwatch.{sm4}

I absolutely agree with you chum. Obee and his marvelous site - was the reason that I picked up a brush and re-kick-started painting TS again. I too learned from John's step-by-step instructions on how to paint tartans - and I've now painted many, thanks to him.

And this is my big Gordon's Band - from castings by Dorset Soldiers. Good luck -:salute::

Cheers - Johnnybach
