Hi can Ken or anyone else who knows, which colour of paint is being used for the skin areas on the Clash of Empires woodland Indians please ?
Beige Red by Vallejo , which I believe I've read WB use for their European type figures is too pale to blend in seamlessly.

That's a tricky one. It kind of depends on how closely the factory matched to the original. The original color was a mix of (Vallejo unless noted otherwise) Mahogany Brown, Brown Ochre, a little Basic Skintone, and Andrea Red 2 (from Andrea Red Set - it's a red that is pretty close to pure red, or at least not on the scarlet side so no slightly orange tone). Shadows would be a very little bit more red and Vallejo Deep Sea Blue. Deep shadow add a touch of black to the shadow mix. Highlights would be the original mix with more of the lighter tones. Be cautious with adding the red and blue paints. A little goes a long way.

And tricky too...the ratios are different for every figure since skin tones vary from person to person. But above is the general mix as a starting point.

Ken might be able to give you a factory color answer, but I doubt they use Vallejo so getting a match would still be difficult.

Cheers,
Wendy

I thought it mightn't be straight forward so thank you for taking the time to answer Wendy.

Oops. Thinking about it a bit more, replace Vallejo Flat Flesh with the Basic Skintone. Basic Skintone is in the mix for Saxons and Vikings. :)
