Sorry Sammy, but my old daddy once told me that there was no reason to jump out of a perfectly good aeroplane, and he never lied to me.^&grin -- Al

Sammy my Dad was in the SASR and he jumped from many a plane and highly recommended it,I did my Para course in the Army but stuffed up my knee so didn't get to finish.
I jumped off the tower which was a buzz and went up in the plane to help but couldn't jump because of my knee and that was fun to so i reckon give it a go,if my knees weren't stuffed i would of done it again.
We want pictures if you do mate ^&grin

Totally jumped earlier this year myself - bit chilly to go again right now but plan on a few more trips next year again!

Cam was a great guy to strap to my back, there was a eagle soaring below us on the way down - super cool!

Great photos Julie!!!!!!!!!!! I have always wanted to do it, and not getting any younger as Al mentioned, not sure if I call it a bucket list but seem to have a love of speed, any type of roller caoster, high heights I love!!!!!!! coolest ride for me?? the sling shot ride on the very top of the Stratosphere hotel in Vegas, felt like I was sky diving on the way down!!!

And Wayne if I get the time and get in a jump I ,most certainly will post some pics...Sammy

Sammy --

Jumped again in San Marcos last week! Maybe a new goal for me is to jump in as many states as possible??? ^&grin
Did not do the in air photos but Joe was a great guy to strap to my back! He let me 'pilot' us around in the air and made me find our drop zone. Sweet experience all around.
Completed that day with golf in the afternoon and wine sampling in the evening - if only I could hit that on repeat for every day!!!

San Marcos, California?

Looks cool. Always wanted to try it.

San Marcos, Texas - kind of between San Antonio & Austin?

It is addicting (to me anyway) so beware!
100-120 mph free-fall clears the head and the views are always nice on the way down!! :)

I have always had a fear of heights. When I saw the previews of the film about the guy walking on a tight rope between the WTC buildings my palms were sweating. But I think at airplane height there must be a certain loss of perspective. Your mind doesn't quite register height in the same way from a plane as it does from a building. Nevertheless I won't be doing it.:wink2:

Were you scared?

First time I went last summer I was a bit nervous but it was always something I wanted to do - having a great tandem guy on your back makes it fun!
And I figured if anything went wrong I'd just land on him :wink2:
Still toying with the idea of going through the certification to eventually solo-dive. Problem is closest place to me here is a 2 hour drive!

Sounds like you had fun !

Regarding "States"...you could jump in North Dakota...two benefits.
1. No trees to hit when landing.
2. On a "normal" day, the wind might carry you all the way home.

Went solo many years ago, in my twenties with no family.
One suggestion is to check your life insurance policies, many have a disclaimer clause for skydiving and mountain climbing!
