Will be displaying the NMA mortar set amongst your King and country.?I am really hoping they are compatible,i don't currently display any other makes with my K&C.

I'm on the fence about buying it. I would really like to see it in person before I make a decision. However, it does look nice.

Sorry not here i keep my collections clearly defind..........this is the issue i have when items are brought out to close looking to what is already out there. Wait until i see` it although i belive not at the next few UK shows.

Have thought i might display an Honour bound Panther with my K&C,but i feel like i'm being unfaithful !!!!

If the Honour Bound tracks match in scale, and look as nice in person as they do in the photos, I will display them with my K&C stuff. For me the only reason to buy another company is that it is compatible with K&C and produces stuff Andy doesn't.

Ditto - I recently posted a photo of Arnhem gunners on a 17pdr - the Brits needed the firepower. All about quality though.........

Maybe I'm missing the "KC exclusive" gene despite spending countless $$$ collecting them. I guess it depends on why we collect King and Country. I collect for the enjoyment of reenacting WWII into miniature diorama scenes.

King and Country happens to be the “Top Dog” for providing the best combination of quality sculpted figures with the most authentic paint jobs and the most available poses (especially the incidental non-firing poses). In my mind, Andy C. continues to deserve that ranking and reputation.

You all know I mix scales (54mm & 60mm) to achieve the diorama experience and my personal enjoyment. Therefore, all the more reason to mix Honour Bound and NMA together if the quality is near or at King and Country level, especially if their scales are equivalent

I can’t imagine spending less for future King and Country in favor of the new manufacturers on the block because Andy C. became successful by out pacing the competition and he’ll continue.

I expect some collectors will have to make tough investment choices in the future but the market as a whole will expand, not contract and this growth will be experienced from eCommerce transactions on the web not in the traditional retail store immediately. This is the preferred buying behavior of most new collectors that I suspect is in the under 40 crowd demographic.

The new collector doesn’t even know the Trade Shows exist yet. Andy C. recent investment in Kings X in San Antonio, TX represents his screwed business augment and will solidifying three important business objectives (pure speculation):

- eCommerce website in the USA geographically centered in his largest market (USA)
- Ideal Retail Shop to generate new clientele located in a great tourist area and also near military bases
- Transportation Hub only blocks away, which should help optimize shipping cost to US collectors

This will only benefit collectors but its effects to dealer (internet and retail stores) are up to speculation and will provide a significant challenge to Andy to manage. Just ask “Conte Collectibles” Dealers about their on-going business experience is with Richard Conte. My bet is that Andy will manage this challenge far better.

Enough with my ramblings,

Carlos

Hi guys,

Interesting to see some of the King and Country faithful looking at other companies with open minds...

I am actually contemplating some WWII sets now. I think Honour Bound and NMA will be a lot of fun to get since they both seem to be looking at doing sets and vehicles that are different from the latest offerings else where.

If I was advising these new companies, I would make for my first 5 or 6 offerings anything that King and Country has not ever made or made recently. You immediately create sell outs, because the masses of collectors want these special vehicles now, not 5 years down the Andy marketing plan..And if the size and quality matches K/C, you immediately give folks a viable choice ,when ever you might do a vehicle similar to K/C. Ditto to that thought! Economicly that makes the best sense and could if done properly generate the best sales.

...and some of us, if lucky enough, would be a 100 years old before we could see our favorite pieces being made. I welcome competion. I just hope they will concentrate on making models never been made before. Who would like to collect Tiger Tanks of various makes from different manufacturers?
I want my toys now before age related medical conditions sets in.

N-P that is a really good point! I too hope to see some really good things from these new entries into the 60mm Fray.

Well, if you are at all familiar with the Donzino's Beau Geste line you will realize right away that they specialize in producing the obscure, what other companies don't already make. They have no interest in making what has already been made by many others and are constantly on the lookout for fresh ideas. Their first offering is a set of Panthers, but instead of just a Panther (which has been done many times), they took it in a different direction by choosing not only a specific battle but also a specific person's tank. I believe they said they are planning to stagger specific tank aces and their vehicles with more rare and unique vehicles. Ana just came in and I checked with her and this is their plan.

Thanks Shannon - I was looking forward to Marders etc from NMA to match Andy's superb Grille and the Bergpanther from Ana but their ordinary Panther A's look fantastic and good enough to set the standard. Would also love a Brummbar.....

Whilst would like more German, Rob's thread a while ago about the allies being outgunned is certainly true. Firefly long overdue but the US need M10 and Jacksons. Also how about the Funnies - if Andy won't make them...

And at the risk of sounding like John Gamble (are you there John?) I am still waiting for the 3 tonner.:D A truck, a truck my kingdom for a....

No great battle was won without the service support groups. Just wishing that either Ana, Andy or Mike will produce these great historical pieces within our lifetime (hurry up guys, we boomers are getting old!!!)

Dear noli-poli,
With the assistance of John (Njja), I am finally able to resize photos I took at K&C's headquarters in Hong Kong last November. I cropped one of the photos to show some British vehicles on one of the shelves. Most of the sets have been issued but there are two vehicles to the right of center which may be of interest to you -- they look very similar to your linked photos of the AEC Matador Tractor and Austin Tilly.:)

I saw those immediately. I would hope that K & C would do those someday.

And if K & C doesn't do them, I hope Honour Bound thinks about doing them.
