Okay Steve, I see them with these pics.
Stil,l even with a "close up" I had to look an extra bit harder to see the last Japanese with his rifle just poking out of the dense foliage.
I can't imagine how terrifying it must have been to move inch-by-inch ad never knowing if that "last inch" is your "last moment" alive. {sm2}
I have many WWII Pacific documentaries that show individual guys "creeping" along for a few feet and then stop-look-listen.
The Japanese were a lot more comfortable with jungle fighting then the US Marines at the beginning, but they LEARNED very quickly.
