Although I would be happy to get nothing but K&C, etc. for Christmas, my wife and mother, who don't care too much for my toy soldier hobby, prefer to get me something "nice" instead. In other words, they want to get me what they want me to receive not what I want.
Anyway, due to my lack of sufficient gift suggestions, they reluctantly got a couple of figures for me. I knew I wouldn't get much if anything, so I bought for myself a large set of Cold Stream Guards early in December and kept it boxed up so I'd have something to look forward to on Christmas.
The funny thing is, when I was at the toy soldier shop to buy the Cold Stream Guards, two old ladies were there browsing for gifts for their husbands and one said, "I can see why he likes this stuff." The other lady replied, "Yeah, It's a lot more fun than getting shirts and ties for Christmas."
