So, What's next with German Paras? (1 Viewer)

That's the reason why that set appeals to me as well Rob, and is also why I'll get it for Missus Heid, although her reasons may not be quite so altruistic. I really don't care whether its innacurate or not. I love the car itself and may use it for some other scene in future.
:):)

I agree Harry, the car is really nice and i think it might look good being ambushed by the Red Devils!:)

That's a great idea Rob. There's that famous photo of General Kussin, killed by paras at Wolfheze and lying on his back half-in half-out of his car. Now that would be a good candidate for my first dio featuring a dead guy....:cool::)

Yes H, i know the pic you mean.I guess if you were using the Heydrich set and the Paras the Heydrich figure could be any officer unlucky enough to have met the Red Devils that day.

Rob

So what's next for German paras...?

What i would really like to see is a demolitions team. Two FJs carrying hollow charges and frames to set them up on at Eben Emael.

Also some British/German hand to hand sets to continue the Crete theme.

Then when we have those I'd like some German paras for Normandy. :)

Or how about a set based around the rescue of Mussolini?

Finally a set of fallschirmjager tank riders so we can recreate those pictures of FJs riding King Tigers during the Bulge

And when all that is done i'd liketo see some Fallschirmjager in white winter gear for the Russian front!

Some cool ideas there James, especially the hand to hand sets. How would you feel about FJ/Villagers hand to hand sets?.

Rob

Yeah it could work as a hand to hand set. Cretans with rifles, pitchforks grappling with paras. Maybe an FJ trying to free himself from his chute?
I wouldn't want to see anything too gruesome.
Like Harry i'm not a huge fan of dead or wounded figures

I think an FJ struggling or just gathering his chute up would be good.I see your point about hand to hand etc,it would be easy to make them too gruesome and put people off.

Hi Guys,

Sometimes this Forum breaks me up (in a nice way). Take the above question and think just for a millisecond...the new “Fallschirmjagers” are barely a month old and yesterday some posters want to know when the next batch will be out and what they will consist of...?

Now, this enthusiasm is great but please give us a break...K&C has a pretty wide range of series and products that also need to be consistently added to...upgraded...etc. etc. all the time. That’s why, for the most part, we try and “stagger” release dates to allow collectors time to catch up and...catch their breath.

So, be a little patient...and try to think logically from a few other positions...other collectors...your own dealers and...King & Country.

That’s all for now folks!

Best wishes and happy collecting!

Andy C.

Wow i don't think anyone was demanding or being rude or anything!
The question asked what FJs we'd like to see. Not much wrong with that I don't think.

By the way to King and Country I have bought several of your new fallshirmjagers and like them very much. They are excellent figures that I have put up against my FOB British.

It's because I like them so much that I posted an answer to the question. Believe me I have better things to do with my life than think up ways to annoy Andy Neilson!

Sorry I rarely get involved in the aggro but I was a bit annoyed by the above post and fired off a reply.
No insults are meant but I stand by the fact that this is a suggestions thread so If suggestion threads cause offence then really the reader should not browse them.

I have said often that when i'm shooting the breeze on here and talking about K&C products, its more about what i'd have if i had a magic wand sort of thing.I never post 'demands' or anything like that.I have many many items on different wish lists, but i don't for a second think Andy is going to rush to make them.I find it very interesting to see which other collectors are thinking the same as me.

As for the FJ's they look superb. The gun and crew are my faveourite set and can't wait to buy several of these at the Dec show in London.

Rob

Well, aren't they suggestions? If you give me a reason why it's not I'll consider moving it back.

LOL:D:D:D, I just meant I don't think as many people check this bit as much as the other bits, and I just wanted to know what people thought would be good, and whjat they would like o see, its cool;):):):):):D

I don't know if that's the case but, as Andy notes, I think it's a little premature to start beating the drum for German paras when they just came out.

Guy's,

Maybe its just me, but there's nothing that I can see in the K&C post to suggest that Andy's pi$$ed off with anyone. Note the (in a nice way) comment I've quoted. All that I see K&C saying is, "Gee, would ye geez a brek".

Rob, we all know that, unlike some other individuals, you don't DEMAND mate and I also join in the "Jeez, I wish K&C would come up with such and such" threads as well. But I'm not a millionaire, and I'd suggest that few other members of the forum are millionaires either. I myself need a breathing space so's I can catch up on some of the superb recent new releases that've been announced. That's why I'm trying to formulate short, medium and long range plans for the rest of this year and through 2008. Of course, those plans will have to be flexible cos each new release is so overwhelmingly tempting.

So do I go for 2 Stug III's as I previously posted, or do I settle for 1 Stug III and spend the cash on one of the other items that tickle my fancy? That's a tough one. I was ecstatic when the grey Stug was announced - Great, a brilliant addition to my FoB collection, or I can dream up a Barbarossa dio using it. Then the DAK version was announced. Given my renewed interest in the Western Desert conflict which is driven by the new LRDG/SAS sets, it's a real must have as well. And its constantly on my mind that if I can organise some kind of arrangement whereby I can pick them up in HK, then I would love to order up some of the equally superb new NMA offerings.

So what I'm trying to say in this loooong ramble is that while we are having fun speculating about what might be released in future - and as I say, I do it as well - I would welcome (say) a 3 or 4 month break from new releases just to give me a chance to catch up on the new LRDG/SAS/Crusader/FJ/Arnhem ranges, as well as some older items.

Just my 2RMB-worth troops. :):)

I would just like it if we could differentiate here.A large part of the forum is people saying 'id like this tank or that set of figs'.But they are not saying 'Andy make this now' or 'Andy you have got to make this'.They are just shooting the breeze and letting their imagination and miltary knowledge loose.

Now there is a world of diff between that and a long list of demands five mins after dispatches is posted.(no offence to gentleman in question)And a following angry list when the previous list is not made!

To pinch a word from the advertising world when we are talking we are just 'Imagineering' and speaking for myself i am in no way putting pressure on Andy to make the stuff.Even our little campaign for the forthcoming Paras (thank you again Andy:))was calm and restrained.

I just want to say i would absolutely hate to be thought of as demanding,i am only chatting away.Probably too much i guess.:eek:Will try and do less of it.

Rob

Rob,
I think the most bitter and twisted member of this forum (if such a person were to exist) knows full well that you don't DEMAND and that it's only musings (love that word). IMO, one of the functions of this forum is to provide a platform where we can in fact bounce some ideas around.....and that's all you were doing.
For example, my question and feelings regarding using dead guys in dioramas was responded to in such a reasonable manner that, as I've previously said, I'm now seriously considering including these in any relevent future dios I construct. I wouldn't have decided even to think about it without the opportunity this forum offers for me to pose the question and then evaluate the feedback.
Please do continue to chatter - its that chat that gave me the idea which I might end up using for Missus Heid's Heydrich car. :):):)
