Some Vintage Figures (1 Viewer)

Hi ROAN,

Where did you manage to find the Uruguayan Cavalry figure? Do you have the set of a single figure? Its a set I'd like to get simply because they are different. I also love those West Indian sets with the over sized eyes they are a classic. The other set I dont know but was wondering if they are Danish Guards?

Very fun to see thanks for posting!

All the best

Dave,

I got that Uruguayan Cav. figure as a single piece first from a dealer and later got the set(#220)because I liked it so much-to me it's like one of those figures that epitomize the old toy soldier style. Yes, the Danish figures are from the Livgarde set #2019-and are also very toy-like.

Best,

Geoff

Hi ROAN,

Thats a great collection!!!

I am really glad you shared them with us they had some great poses and colors. I've been trying to get my hands on one of the kneeling officers with binoculars. I think that one is a great pose-ramrod straight back and of course the Gurkhas and Camel Corps troopers are great too.

Nice to see them.

All the best

Dave

Papal Swiss Guards
love those Papal Swiss guards. Does anyone know if these figures were ever sold at the Vatican City, like the Fort Henry Guards were sold at Fort Henry, Kingston?

Who was that lovely blonde lady we saw a picture of you with then?

Thought I'd add these trophy figures to this thread they're from earlier sets that I pick up from ebay with some damage but for $50.00 plus shipping and handling I couldn't pass on them. They are from the Sudan period and I believe from sets of the Royal Marines. I couldn't pass up adding another photo of them facing off against a group of attacking Zulu Warriors adding a single figure from Trophy of a Marine Colour-Sergeant from a later casting....The Lt.

Gentle Friends,

On July 4, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed and the United States of America was established. Every 4th of July, Americans celebrate the anniversary of the signing with parades, fireworks, and a variety of events. For those of us who live in the United States, it is a special holiday.

One of the most enduring images associated with Independence day is the image known as the "Spirit of '76." The image consists of three colonial figures: two drummers and a piper. In order to help celebrate this American holiday, I am posting a few pictures of my vintage set of the Spirit of '76. You should see the pictures below.

These figures were made in the early 1950's by a company known as Minikin. Minikin was a line of figures manufactured in post World War II Occupied Japan. Minikin figures were probably the finest of all the toy soldiers produced in Occupied Japan. I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I enjoy having them included in my collection.

Here, then, is the Spirit of '76:

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Somebody posted a picture on the "show your face thread" of a gentleman and a Marilyn Monroe look alike. I am sure the caption said that the gentleman was you. I trust I am not getting mixed up.
