I recently purchased a mixed bag of Somerset figures and parts. Based on the Somerset website, I was able to piece most of it together.

The exception being these two bags. Any ideas where they go?

Thank you in advance.

Look like saddlebags to me, but to as how they fit on the figures shown I have no idea!

Hi, Andreas!

They also remind me of the pouches German cavalry carried at the front of the saddle, where in previous generations the pistol holsters were carried. But with that strap cast behind and between the bags, I suspect they go someplace else. Unless, they're installed on a horse casting that has the neck and head cast separately from the body, and they fit between the rump and the neck.

Prost!

They go over the pommel of the saddle on the camels of the soldiers, not the pack camels. -- Al

These look like the leather saddlebags used by British Cavalry in the late 1800's

Seen here in an OSPREY book

and on these Stadden figures.

Hope that helps, but I don't know where they can go on a camel ???

Thank you again for everyone’s comments. Al had the right answer. Worked perfectly.

You are very welcome. Glad to help out a fellow Somerset collector. I have some 17 Somerset and King and Country Camel troops with all those saddle bags and equipment bags to be hung on the saddles. Love your collection. -- Al

Ah, OK, Al, I can see that on the rider at the right of the picture. Good call!

Prost!

CORRECT!@ Sorry just seeing this.

On a side note, Somerset (Ron Leh) actually made the camels that were the original K&C Glossy Camels and these little bags were part of the sets!
