Hmm...are you planning on making any Stalingrad Dios Rob? :D:D;)

Well, I'm pretty confident when I say that, while you may not be now, you will be after you see the figures at the London show next weekend. :D

I actually just saw all of the production figures today including the figures being rushed off to the TM Terrain guys for the show and they're just ridiculously silly good. SILLY. I'm riding a figure high right now.

You are far too perceptive Matt!:D

Yes, I really must try to get out more and make it to some of the major shows. Of particular interest, and no disrespect to London, but Le Petit Soldat is in Italy and I think THAT'S the show I should attend (sorry, been to London many many times!)

Now, back the figures. Rob, I'll eat my hat if you aren't blown away (and my Red Sox hat has been on my head near daily for about four years now and isn't the cleanest thing on the planet). Of particular note will be a preview set of GERSTAL010 Combat Pioneer Assault Group, the official pre-order of which will start tomorrow. It's a four figure set and just delicious. A tiny bit larger than our first figures and I just couldn't be giddier about them. Don't take my word for it, check them out yourself at the show and do report back on them after you do.

I know it's probably bad form to be part of the company and be so excited about our own products, but seriously, I can't wait to play with the figures. They're just on another level entirely. In fact, I'm riding such a high today and so excited about this range that I've been toying with the idea of showing you all images of our first vehicle that is sitting behind me with it's lovely crew. Alas, I won't though...all in good time!

Matt

VEHICLE!! WHAT VEHICLE!!:D;)

Absolutely nothing wrong with a producer being excited by their own products,i find its reassuring for the collector to discover the producer has real passion for his subject.I certainly will report back here on Saturday(or Sunday if i don't get back on the PC when i get home).

Can iask a question Matt.Obviously over the coming months you will be building up your Stalingrad range, but do you see a point in the future where you will have more than one WW2 Range on the go at the same time?.I was just wondering how large WW2 will feature in FL's plan, must say its all very exciting for us collectors too!.

Real quick to answer your question is that after we build up the Stalingrad range a bit, we will most likely get another range going in tandem. Given that the complete Stalingrad Range will most likely come in at over 150 different figures and accessories, it would make a lot of sense to give the customers of the range a breather once in awhile and make something else. Of course, there are a lot of things we want to make, so who knows, rather than get another WWII range going at the same time as Stalingrad, you might get a brand new period entirely. Really, we just haven't decided yet. We have so many things we want to do.

Mr. Matt, how are you?

Please Rob and Matt allow me to put my finger on this conversation regarding a NEW series from another ERA…

It will be nice, as you did with Stalingrad series, to develop a new complete different range, so my suggestion is.

ANCIENT TIME something around 200 BC Romans Series against the Carthagians Hannibal…

I couldn’t resist…..

Only now have I seen these photos. What awesome figures and what an awesome period to choose (Stalingrad)! What temptations!:p.
Glad you showed them on such wonderful photos.

Congrats,

During my research into the Battle of Stalingrad for our range, I uncovered these rare archival photographs capturing the struggle for the Barrikady Gun Factory. I can't judge exactly when they were taken, but I assume it must have been late October or early Novembr 1942 when the Germans were clearing the last of the large manufacturing halls that dominate the complex and were pressing on towards the Volga which lay only a few hundred meters away. As we know, they never did make it...

I thought some of you might be interested in them...

Just after dawn, elements from 1/305th Pioneer Battalion prepare charges to blow a hole into the Apotheke to allow the Assault Teams to gain entrance.

Elements from Sturmcompanie 44 take cover at their jumping off point somewhere near Haus 53 as they await the signal from the Pioneers that an entrance into the Apotheke has been created. Part of the Assembly Hall is visible in the background

I have many more of these Archival photographs and will post more later as I identify each. In particular there are some fantastic wide shots that really provide an excellent view of the sheer size of the Barrikady complex. I believe in one shot I can see a vehicle of some sort, but the image is hasn't survived well over the years and must be restored to a level where I can make out the details of exactly what it is. I will continue to work on this and update you all with any progress I am able to make.

I hope you enjoy this first glimpse of what is to come...I will be posting these and many other images to our website in the next week or so, so stay tuned.

I don't know if Matt is interested in selling it, but I can tell you the plan is for me to have some representation of the factory at OTSN and perhaps Hackensack and/or the Long Island show in November.

Don't want to put words into Mr Matts mouth, but I am pretty sure that is the plan.

I know you don't have a store in your area, but you are in the hotbed of the toy soldier circuit, with no less than 12 shows held per year within the New York/New Jersey area, you should come on out to one at some point to see all of these items in the flesh...........

Well, we don't plan on mass producing it if that's what you're asking. We have some buildings planned, but mass producing that would be masochistic to say the least. But once the factory and environs has done it's duty in Chicago and possibly a few other shows, it will most likely be sold on to a single lucky collector. And after that, we'll build a new one of a different part of the battle. ;)

Alas Rodrigo, if I had $1 for everytime someone asked us to do a certain period, we wouldn't need to do anything and could just retire to a warm tropical climate. :D

As for your specific suggestion, a range of ancients has been discussed a bit, but nothing concrete at all. As I said, we have so many things we want to do.

I often feel the need to remind folks that we've been offering our figures for only about 18 months now. In that time we're released well over 150 different Napoleonic figures, now 17 WWII figures, a few samurai, and the start of our terrain range. We're about to start the pre-order for another 24 figures in the next week. All this being said, we're still a brand new company. Give us some time!

I understanding my friend, I was just bored in the job and the idea come out. Keep your mind in the WWII-War on the East releases.

Cheers My Firend.

Ahh, we thought we'd snuck that one by everyone. Yes, our first vehicle to go with the range will be a locamotive. Good catch! And we're doing it despite the fact that I've been told that Eastern Front locamotives don't sell.:D:D:D

Any word on El Loco?
Mike
