Another one of First Legion’s more unique armored vehicle offerings: the Soviet IS-7 “Granite” model from their World of Tanks series. I’ve posted several dioramas with the FL IS-7 tank model over the last few years and this is the newest iteration. The Soviet Assault Engineers are War Park figures and the defenders are FL Late War Konigsburg German figures. I finally found a use for my dead Stalingrad German figure, too

While the IS-7 was a real Soviet Super Heavy tank prototype built in the immediate post WWII timeframe, the FL model takes some liberties on the design and camouflage scheme based on a vehicle in the World of Tanks game. It’s still a beautiful model and one of my favorite FL tanks 😎

Thanks for the kind comments, Mike and Robin!

Robin, IS-7 was armed with a 130mm (13cm/5.11 in) S70 main gun, which was derived from a Soviet naval gun and used an early auto loader system. Frontal armor was up to 300mm thick and was intended to withstand the impact of a shell fired by the German 12.8cm Pak 44 that equipped the Jagdtiger and Maus tanks!

Brilliant again Tman 👏. I don't know how you keep coming up with these fantastic dioramas. Well done Paul.

Thank you all for the kind comments on my diorama! I truly appreciate the support my work, as well as everyone else’s, gets from this awesome community of toy soldier collectors 😃

This display was a quick turnaround as it was recycled from a “Battle of Konigsburg” diorama I made nearly a year ago in April 2025. I just switched out the tank and figures and added the lamp post. Some of the German figures from the original diorama also found a place in the new display.

My display uses the Sheffield Miniatures Bomb Disposal base, ruined townhouse structure, and mixed rubble material which are fantastic products for making a realistic urban battlefield 😎
